    Matco vs snap on tools

You should not be using chrome sockets on impacts. I would think someone who has been wrenching since '81 would know better. You could get a cheap set of HF impacts for 10 bucks instead of abusing your Snap-On sockets. SMH

    Tools from the old world

my order total was around $40 with shipping. I figured 20 bucks per driver is about what you pay when you buy a Snap-On set and the quality is on-par if not better with PB Swiss. I'm happy with the purchase.

So what did the set cost you? I see people post Toptul quite often on here, but am unaware of any vendors and unfamiliar with the brand's price point.

    Tools from the old world

I said the same thing when I saw them. :D I do not believe PB Swiss makes them anymore.. they did about five years ago. Luckily, Monte found a vendor that still had some in stock.

For all you snappy joes (Snapon fans)

Back when I started buying tools, I was in tech school and bought them right off the truck at a great discount price! I did not end up becoming a professional mechanic though, so now my purchases are made directly from the Snappy website.

I was in the market for crimping pliers myself this week. I was between the Channellock 909 and and the Klein 1005. I ended up going with the Kleins. I hadn't considered the Pro America though.. I've never seen them before. I wonder how they compare. :dunno:

    Best price on nitrile gloves?

I'm quite pleased with the 7mm HF Nitrile gloves. Only 7.99 for a box of 50 with a 20% off coupon. If you're okay with thinner gloves for light work, you can get them even cheaper.
