A little background. I did auto body restoration and heavy collision repair for 20 years when I was younger. Also a few years of high end cabinet making. I’m currently a firefighter close to retirement. A few years ago I decided to buy a welder to make a roof for my Polaris. One thing led to...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Looks good, there is A LOT of hoopla about these particular vises .. very different markings, stampings etc.. some will say it’s a Chinese made Vise unless it says MADE IN ENGLAND on it... what does the other side have stamped on it? Best Regards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In the market for new MIG machine

The Hobart 210mvp was my favorite machine due to it's simplicity. . I agree, very simple and easy to use. Just dial in the thickness of the metal, set the feed speed and go. I’m curious why you sold the Hobart?

In the market for new MIG machine

Hobart MVP 210. Best money I’ve spent. I learned to weld on a Millermatic 35 years ago when I was doing auto body repair.. Millers are great machines, but I have not one bad thing to say about the Hobart. Does everything you will need it to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Starrett 924-1/2 stand

Very nicely done. Does it feel sturdy, NOT top heavy with the 100 lbs in there? I did auto body and welding fabrication for 20 years so I can appreciate the love that went into this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Did I buy a real Record Vise or a cheap new China import?

Will throw my hat in the ring.. new member here.. just got this locally. Posting on the forum because it’s the only spot on the whole interwebs that has any good info on this vise. Mine has markings in different locations than others posted so I figured I’d post up some pictures. Sent...
