You can apply window film on double pane windows you just have to be aware of the heat absorption percentages. some films absorb more heat than others ( depending on darkness,reflectivity or metal properties) what happens is the inside piece of glass absorbs the heat and increases the air space...

Hey OCG you might want to rethink the buffing area so close to the booth it could increase contaminates pulled into the air flow and ruin the paint work

They make a frost window tint you could install easily it is very forgiving so it would come out nice even for a first timer. the hardest part would be cutting it out neatly. You would get the light and the privacy, it would hold up to UV. The cost would be so much less than changing the glass...
