    Does anyone have any pictures they can post? I have an older 5/24 MTD...all these years later, it still starts on the very first pull! Great machine, still in great shape, and I treat it to new belts, friction wheel, etc. regularly. But mushy snow does clog the chute, so this thread intrigues...

No, I still hate the magnet, but if the base was replaced with a 5/8" stud, it would fit into a clamp hole in the tabletop and I bet the moment angle of the grinder's weight on the stand would lock the pin in place...same way that a clamp works.     Grinding makes a mess....steel & carbide dust all over the place. This magnet will attract enough dust to cover it completely. This sure looks cool as shown, but I cannot see how this is a realistic solution to anything.

    Like I said, that's one of the rods I have no trouble with. I'm just wondering why I **** so bad with 6013. I haven't ruled out bad rods, but different rods burn differently, so I suspect it's my technique.
