Tool chests - Making your own middle box

I did build [almost finished no really] an end cabinet and started a 1 drawer mid box . [noticing a trend are we? Well I have a wife to nag me, so leave her a little meat on the bones to chew on PLZ!] It was going to be a 2 drawer but, material was running short and so am I, 2 drawers would be...

    exterior pvc trim

I've never tried a heat gun for this but a small torch usually will restore the gloss of many plastics [propane, butane, even a cigarette lighter, size of the part dependant). The melt point of most are in the low to mid 400° range but they start becoming "plastic" in the 200-250° range [where...

Resources on how to read and decipher blueprints for fitting and fabricating metal?

Maybe so but we are supposed to be here because we LOVE THIS $#!+! I have seen a few books that I will add to my wife's "Buy me this list" she never knows what to buy me for those special occasions! It is my lot [and every GJ'ers] to make sure every tech avenue is fully exploited, (and that we...

How to repair "divet" in concrete floor?

My pail of concrete bonding agent looks, feels, and smells like "white glue". But the "patch" products will (or should) include a bonding agent. One and done! Next project! Harry

Hey guys, I acquired an old salvage yard a few years ago....

Back in the Non-Steel belted Bias Ply tire days a company I walked past on my way to school cut them into a flat sided "Oval" and threaded them together [steel wire/rod] as mats for scrapping the chips off of your boots before heading into the office. I did a Google search for them by name (Dura...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT 86's 20HP shop

I didn't read the detailed data sheet, as I don't know what size the shaft is I am sure most of their products detail "holding" based on diameter, [ie; 1/4" is permanent, but only strong but removable on 1/2" etc. (I'm thinking Red here)]. I am also not sure about your "Commitment" to this fix...

Large plastic screws for a Keter Shed

If you have 1 good one, you could take a mould of it, and cast your own. You will need lots of wax and a parting agent to remove the original plug, and subsequent "new parts". For increased strength you could add a nice piece of dowel and/or chopped fiberglass to the resin. Harry

    Above 1200 Sq/FT 86's 20HP shop

I am wondering if some shaft retainer Loctite would help with the flywheel retention? I've thought about it plenty but never pulled the trigger, always seemed to work out ["missed him by that much" (Maxwell Smart] just before the "Better Living Through Chemicals" fix was implemented. Just an...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT 86's 20HP shop

86' use a small pic and then progressively bigger implements and pry twist etc. until you can grab the top piece of insert and simply turn it out. They spin out easier than a screw if you get them from the top as they collapse as you turn them. Harry
