Innovative ways of storing a 12” mitre saw

+1 on the Ridgid rolling stand. If you can wait a little bit it will almost certainly go on sale at Home Depot and/or Direct Tools Outlet between now and the end of the year. I got mine for $70 last December at DTO. Regular price is $199 at Home Depot. * Actually, it's on sale now for $130...

    Industrial Metal Desks

I happened to come across another yesterday. The Mrs was laughing at me for getting so excited about the first one, but now she wanted her own so this smaller one will probably be hers. pokemon coin toss

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

GSDs are very pack-oriented and most adapt quickly to different situations. My female (passed in 2017, cancer) was fiercely protective of the pack when out on walks. However, if a dog or person joined us on a walk after about 15-20 minutes she would settle and if anyone approached that...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

This is our current pack of rescues. We have one more not pictured here that was dumped about 6 weeks ago. We weren't planning on keeping him, but who are we kidding? We have a hard time turning away dogs in need.

School me on hex tools and torx tools. Help me wade through the options

They all have their uses. I have a set of Craftsman hex bit sockets that I couldn't live without in my line of work. I have been using them for years on 85% of the jobs I do and they have held up well despite being the cheapo modern day Craftsman. However, sometimes I need a really small bit...

Contractor broke water line... who's liable?

Legally and ethically, this is the contractor's responsibility. If this were to go to small claims, you'd be in and out in less an hour with a judgement in your favor. We buy, sell, refurbish, move and service gym equipment. It's generally expected that we may nick a piece of drywall or the...

    Industrial Metal Desks

I just picked up this one for free today. It was made by the General Fireproofing Co, which operated under this name from 1902-1973 (dissolved completely in 1993). It's somewhere in the realm of 150-200 lbs. It was in a 2nd floor apartment, but the guy giving it away was nice enough to help me...

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

A few politicians have recently parroted this line, but I believe it originates from Thomas Sowell. The idea is that direct tax increases are avoided by just inflating the cost of everything and taking people's money that way instead.

OBD2 Scanner, Need help picking out a good all around option.

That's a bit disappointing as I haven't been able to find a lot of options for a decent DIY scan tool. Autel and Innova are typically the top 2. Autel sent me this: That's no good for me. :/

OBD2 Scanner, Need help picking out a good all around option.

Let me know how you like it. This is the model I was most considering as well. I started w/ Autel, but it seems their DIY products don't support vehicles after 2015 (and all the way back to 2011 on some Kias). They responded to a Q&A on one of their products on Amazon and stated that their...

    Stick vacuum?

I would be cautious about using a Dyson like a ShopVac. I used my Dyson V7 to clean up after mounting some concrete anchors in the basement and it became completely clogged up and wouldn't stay on. I had to remove the filter and soak it for a full 24h to get the vacuum working again.

Very impressive. I can relate to getting carried away on a project also. I do it all the time.

At what point do you just chuck all of your junk in a dumpster?

Never. One man's trash is another man's treasure. I sell practically everything rather than tossing it.

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

I could fill the thread with photos of our rescues, but I'll just post a couple here. Aidan on the left, Kiley on the right. We lost Kiley to hermangiosarcoma (aggressive cancer that primarily affects GSDs and Goldens) in 11/2017. Aidan is still with us and just turned 9. Very smart, very...
