    Garden Hose Reels?

Confusing. Eley's parts list states sales of the copper tube design ended in April 2020. I ordered it June 2022... :dunno:. no biggie. Their Customer Service Rep told me there is no difference in performance and in the rare event the swivel ever breaks, the new design is a direct replacment. I'm...

    CoThG's Toolbox question thread

I was that guy. Made my living for two different Exxon owners with a Craftsman top/bottom combo Grandpa gave me when I was 12. STill have the same tools, they're just in bigger Craftsman boxes now in my garage. I have two Snap On tools, a Blue Point carb adjusting tool, and a Snap On obstruction...

Where to get decent bathroom fixtures?

X2. Not in any particular order, but I've been happy with Delta fixtures for a long time. No Grohe or especially Moen for me. Can't count the times I've had to cut out an entire Moen bath valve because a 1 year old cartridge was hopelessly seized into the valve body... Tommy

    California Air Quiet Compressors Feedback?

Continuous duty is a motor rating, not an output rating. It means the motor is capable of continuous operation at its rated power with a temperature rise within the specified insulation temperature. Tommy

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Maybe "transmission" was a poor word choice. From looking at a parts breakdown, I'd say there is a gear reduction linking the motor and pump. I started to look into it with the idea of getting or making a new seal. The hardware that sandwiches the motor/pump/gear reduction unit are severely...

Quality Garden hose wyes, shut offs, etc

Dramm and Eley both make great accessories. I have the Dramm full flow shutoff valves on both of my hoses, but my get an Eley splitter and a short coil hose so I don't have to unreel a lot of hose just to fill a bucket...

    Garden Hose Reels?

Weird. My "old" one is 3 years old and has the old style bent copper elbow swivel. My 4 month old one has a different cast elbow and swivel than yours. The Eley website doesn't show a setup that matches yours that I can find. I wonder why my "old" one is newer than yours, but has the "copper"...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Reassembled my freebie Pressure washer after installing a replacment inlet assembly. Used it to clean the driveway with a borrowed surface cleaner only to find the transmission now leaks oil and there's no seals avavilable. Oh, well, 8 years of use with one $19 repair. I'll take that ROI. Tommy

How would you move this machine?

No help on the move other than suggesting a rigger. I'd be more concerned about powering it. I bet it's a fairly big 3 phase motor... Tommy

    Exhaust Fans Bathroom?

Fantech. Hands down the, quietest (0.2 sones, Panasonic Whispers are 28 Db, which is 1 sone.), moves a legit 100 cfm installed, not just "rated at *** cfm" like the other brands, they are bulletproof reliable and have much better warranty, 7years vs. 2 for Panasonic. I've replaced Panasonics...

    Split power to air handler?

OK, I get it. It's not a VFD type device, I guess. I don't do much with residential stuff anymore. Tommy

Air handler condensate trap: any reason to NOT have one?

You need a trap by CODE, regardless of which side of the fan the coil is on. It has to be an indirect drain with an air break or gap, depending on the receptacle. You cannot "lay it on a floor drain" or tie it directly into a sanitary line.

Mr Cool DIY 24K rapid loss of refrigerant.

Vibration loop looks much better. I see they are now brazing everything, too. Glad it worked out!

Mr Cool DIY 24K rapid loss of refrigerant.

ALL manufacturers of regular split systems require brazing on R410a. Some won't even honor any warranty issues if soft solder was used.
