30X30= Need help with OH door layout and lift placment

Well, mine is a bit non-traditional b/c it's attached to the house and only has one OH door on the side. Property size, setbacks, and my septic system made this addition really interesting. Here's a link to my build thread: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45347 One more...

30X30= Need help with OH door layout and lift placment

I have a 32' wide x 30' deep building, with a lift almost centered in the back half (it's 12' off the back wall and 10' off the left wall (if your facing the garage from the OH door). I like your plan shown with the MS paint drawing. If you could go 36' or 38' feet deep, you'd be able to park...

    Two Post Lift recommendations

wendell - re-read what I originally posted. I think we are in the same boat. I don't have a Mohawk. I'm saying that with long trucks I use jack stands to firm up the load. I'm sure it would be fine without them, but I feel better having the jack stands in place.

It's been a while, but the inside is basically finished. I'm in the process of moving in tools and finishing my roll around workbench. And an action shot...the clutch went out on my truck during this garage project, so it prompted an earlier than planned lift purchase... The half...

    Two Post Lift recommendations

Hi - I can relate, as I finally made the purchase of a lift a couple weeks ago. The research and contradicting opinions are endless. I have a few opinions/points that I'd like to point out b/c I think they are important and often not discussed. 1. Asymmetric vs. symmetric: I prefer (and...

Alot of common lift questions answered here ,,by rotory

Wow. It's funny you post that. I ordered a Direct Lift Pro 9F from Greg Smith Equipment on Monday, and I had previously downloaded the Pro 9F instruction manual from their website: http://www.directlift.com/Pro-9F-Two-Post-Lift-P43C8.aspx Compared to...

please help me pick out a new cordless drill

I have an 18V Lithium Ion Ryobi with the autoshift feature (same as a RIDGID) and I can't say enough good things about it. I'm totally pleased. My father in-law used it for an afternoon when I was over helping him and he went out the next week and bought one too. His came packaged with a...

    Garage Evolution...lots of pics

I don't post on here much (although I look a lot), but I've come back and looked at this thread three times now. I made my wife look at it this time. Everything about your build is awesome. The architecture, layout, useful ideas, quality of the build....the list goes on. Nice job. Also, you...

New member, new build: 32' x 30/38' attached

I made some progress this weekend. Thought I'd share.... I have all my receptacles wired, the back wall is insulated, and I finally got to move my toys in. I'm quite shocked at how much space is left after moving in 2 cars and 2 jet-skis. I'm very pleased. Also, my builder finally got...

Thanks for the props guys. I didn't realize how many people were on this board. My image hosting site was bandwidth limited and you guys killed it in two days! I switched everything over to photobucket, so we'll see how that goes. TRC51 - yeah, I like to think of it as a "sleeper" garage...

New member, new build: 32' x 30/38' attached

Hi guys - I found out about this site from a friend about one week into my build. Awesome place - I have killed many hours on this board already. Now that things are finally slowing down, I have a chance to document my progress. We were originally looking into putting a detached garage in...
