I'm just being a smart *** about eating the tamales Sterling. Many years ago, one of my coworker's grandmother made authentic tamales and he would bring me a couple dozen about twice a month. We were very spoiled and ate a lot of tamales throughout the late 90's into 2000's and my son would...

Dammit, know I figured out why I haven't cared for tamales.

I finally got around to taking some pictures and some "rough" measurements for Grant aka @Grant Gunderson last night of my Arizona Transmission and Machine EZ Driver set. Here is the packaging, a nice blow molded case. I do not believe their website is still active, but their phone number is...

Scott, that very topic is a heated one amongst our RV'ing friends. When we were traveling with them quite heavily the group sought out places to compare their chicken fried steaks and although many agreed on the ranking of the steaks themselves, there was a divide in the group over brown gravy...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Overcoming Good-Deal-Itis One Project at a Time

Sterling, been a way for a week or so and just getting caught up. Glad to hear your surgery went well and you are on the mend.

Thank you. Yes, we love living so close to so many wonderful places to visit. Thanks. I don't know about the undisputed king of maintenance though. I just like things clean and properly maintained. I added the britework to my coach's engine bay several years ago and like to...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT My new garage build! 30x50 !

I would agree with Marc on this. I have always had four-wheel drive trucks from High School through current, but mainly to haul our snowmobile trailers around up and down the mountains as much of the time it was on snow packed roads. Now that we no longer snowmobile, I really have no need for...

    Paint Can Shakers

I have 2" receiver tube welded to my workbench at either end. I plan on making an adapter in which to merely slide into one of those for when in use. I don't plan on using mine that often so I don't want something too permanent that I have to work around. This way I can store it under the...

During our stay in Torrey, UT temperatures were around 88-92 degrees all week, so quite pleasant. It did get a little warmer when we dropped in elevation as we traveled to Hanksville as well as returning to Torrey via the Burr Trail with temperatures hovering just into the triple digits, around...

Continuing on. The next morning we fueled up and headed east about 50-miles to Hanksville, UT and picked up the Henry Mountains. The Henry Mountains are the last mapped and named mountain range in the lower-48 states. There are numerous water crossings and the elevation climbs surprisingly...

I hope everyone has had a great Fourth of July on this momentous 250th anniversary of our country. After doing some paint work on the wife's car over the July 4th holiday weekend and hanging around home for the weekend, on Monday morning the wife and I took off for central Utah for about a week...

General junk collector and hoarder of less desirable things

I agree Dave. I've seen some wrapped vehicles and what was under them after removal of the wrap and it was evident why they wrapped it. Personally, I'm not a fan of wrap, I prefer a deep gloss paint job.

    Paint Can Shakers

Yes, I do have the Astro Pneumatic version of the paint shaker (Model # 4550A). It works as advertised, but I need to make a removable base to mount it to my workbench as it walks around the workbench too much if not secured. I've only used it once when I was doing some paint work on the...

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

Yes, I purchased my set directly from Arizona Transmission and Machine about 8 or 9 years ago. They had been having them produced and marketed by Mayhew for a short time and I kept putting of buying one until my new shop was built. Then when I went to buy one I could no longer find them...

Grant, I will get you the smallest and largest of the driver sizes when I get home. This set is actually designed for driving transmission bearings over shafts rather than seals, but it works so well and is so versatile I find myself using it for a myriad of tasks. There are three hollow tubes...

For clear to bind properly I wouldn't go any finer than 800-grit when prepping the surface to be painted. Too fine and it won't have a good mechanical tooth to bite into the substrate. I only use 1000-grit when preparing an area I am going to blend into doing an open blend.

Thank you. All of the sanding on the wife's car was done by hand using 600-grit wet with semi-flexible backing pad. No kit, just tools and supplies I've collected over the years. Clear was SPI's Universal Clear sprayed through my Iwata gun with a 1.4 tip. Thank you for stopping by and...

Happy to answer any questions Scott. Hope the information was helpful. That being said, keep in mind I'm not as much up to speed on current practices if they differ from my old school methods. I just seem to stick with what works for me and I don't necessarily follow the same guidelines as...

Sterling, yes the lights would have been easier to sand and paint with them removed, however, the whole front bumper and valance needs to come off in order to remove the headlight housings. I waffled, but figured it would be better time wise to do on the car, especially where I could easily...
