    Honda GX 16 Carb

I pulled it last night and ran it 30 minutes in an ultrasonic cleaner at about 150 degrees with just a spoonful of cleaner. Would this alone clean the jets, or do I need to take the jets out clean them? and how, just an old toothbrush and some brakes cleaner?

    Honda GX 16 Carb

I have a vibrating plate compactor that has a GX 160 engine. Gas flows from the tank to the bowl very well. If I spray a bit into the carb directly, it runs, for a couple of seconds. The floater, which would be unrelated to what I think the issue is, works well and allows gas to the bowl and...

Aluminum branch circuit wiring and device compatibility 1970s style

I am sure in the 60's when AL wiring was introduced, it was considered to be good. Then, as with many new products, mass use exposes problems. This newer wiring could be good and eventually replace copper, or it could have issues we are not aware of yet. Like everything, it's good...till it isn't.

Aluminum branch circuit wiring and device compatibility 1970s style

I can't tell you for sure the reason insurance companies will not insure homes with AL wiring, but I do remember reading an article that some US govt safety agency had stated that homes with AL wiring have 55 times more likelihood of having a fire due to the AL wire. What this means in actual...

    Vise Info Thread

I realize that open screw vises are usually considered less heavy duty, or less desired when searching for a capable bench vise, but personally, I find they have so much character. For anyone who collects vises, they are worthy additions to any collection.

FJ, to me, the only English vise that has any sort of resemblance is Fortis. I know that Fortis did have a "Parallel" vise, but I think other English and US made vises had the Parallel moniker.

I am not sure, but IIRC from others commenting, they are casting parts. If so, you will not find them on brochures or spec sheets, they were simply the part associated with the metal cast.

    Vise Info Thread

PierceA, nice find and maybe some knew, but that is the 1st combo vise over 6" I heard of. FJ, great info, as always; you are invaluable to the vise community. And CRS, you have also become quite the vise resource, nice info.

Can a Track Saw Replace a Table Saw?

Good Lord, I don't want you to keep saying it again and again, but consider the question by the OP, do you see "furniture or cabinet building" in the question. Maybe he is a troll just looking for people to react. Or maybe he is just getting into buying some tools and wonders if his 1st...
