My father in law dropped his truck off this evening for me to get started on. I waffled and decided at the last minute I was going to replace the oil pump as well. So while I am tearing it down I wont have parts until tomorrow morning. I dropped the front diff out, thankful for my trans jack and...

Last night while the A4 was occupying the lift I got started on an Audi Allroad, which is basically just an A4 wagon. I pulled it in and sucked the oil out, then replaced the filter. These have an odd filter that is supposed to not drain back. Once Jeff finished the A4 we swapped places and got...

Nothing like the frustration of a plastic oil or fuel filter housing. I have seen many that feel like a gorilla tightened them. Had a couple break even when using the appropriate tool to remove them. Makes me glad that my local parts store is less than a mile away and delivers.

If I didnt already have the TJ project in a million pieces and no time for it, I could almost justify the centurion. Last night we had an A4 Audi in for engine mounts and a transmission pan gasket. Jeff was humming right along when I got a text about a bolt issue. I was looking at it and the...

Man its tempting, I have looked at that pic probably 50 times since I took it. I have a nurse wanting to bring her 96 Bronco in for suspension work and it feels like I keep getting little hints dropped here and there pushing me towards trying to buy it.

@Mr.zippy https://a.co/d/4c2IKzc Now you have no excuse! In all seriousness though, I bought a big zip tie assortment like 15 years ago from Advance that had some small multi colored ties in it and I am still using them to this day. I tag wire harness repairs with a yellow tie as we used...

Stick up some of those tapes in your attic space and blow it in yourself. Blower is free when you buy x amount of bags at home depot. You could knock it out in a few hours and save the cash.

Most parts arent made by the auto manfacturer but by a vendor. A Behr thermostat is the same as the one you pull out of a VW box, just not stamped as VW since its not sold by the dealer. When I worked at the Audi dealer I had to write a 3 digit vendor code on each warranty part on the ticket so...

My compressor did that a while back when I plumbed in my air system. Luckily I caught it pretty quick with my garage cam and was able to get my neighbor to stop in and unplug the compressor before any damage occured. Funny thig was the only reason I caught it was because i had a motion alert in...

It would appear Krampus has come and blessed me with more Euro work I had to unpack it all before I left for work to make sure I got it all. Nextfew days will be full of Porsche, Audi and BMW work before diving intoremoving an oil pan on my father in laws truck to work out a low oil pressure issue.

Some of that era camry and rav 4s with the 4 cylinder had issues with pulling threads in the block for thebhead bolts. Toyota had a whole kit to repair them. I would do them all. Yes it *****, but pulling the head in 5k miles ***** worse.

Nice work on the table. I have a surgical table in my shop that needs a new pocket for a caster. I used some janky program and made one to 3d print. Dimensionally it was correct but there wasnt a hole for the caster to insert into. My computer is too old to run fusion and I hate asking to use my...

@XJSuperman, @zmotorsports I had never seen or heard of a centurion so I had to go do some quick reading on it. I would love to swap my powerstroke drivetrain into that thing! Its a cool looking truck and the OBS Ford trucks are a soft spot for me as I have owned a few. With my kids growing, I...
