    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Bob Heine's Auto Emporium

I don't really have a personal thread I just interject comments from time to time. With the way things are going I might be taking the dirt nap before you. But it is the Holidays and try not to dwell on that I just up the approved pain management medication. We are due for 8 inches of frozen...

    What makes a toolbox expensive/better?

Just one thing bought a HF tool cart when they first came out. I cut my hand several times in the assembly of said box. They save money by not deburring the thing. I have had Snap On since the mid 70's and none has drawn blood. My kid is eyeing my toolboxes so in thirty years I expect the SO to...

Help me design a mobile tool system

When I hit the track I did bins. Depending on how long would determine what I would bring. One day Test "test trips" often didn't bring the welder. I had a track toolbox for hand tools. Then I had 3 bins for wire and harness repair, one bin for welding and a Miller machine, bin for race car...

If tenants are involved for insurance purposes I would have a third party deal with it.

    Outfitting a new Race Shop

In my shop and every other one I have worked out of every thing moves. If you have a separate machine machine area that can be stationary. But keep the car work space able to roll. The more flexabilty you have the happier you will be. All my shops we didn't have lifts so I guess you work on tin...

Anyone ever removed a toilet before?

I had a old school plumber after you get a new ring and seal he would make a ring of plaster of paris that sits between ring and toilet. My toilets never leak or move.

Not selling it yet but on Long Island so shipping and pickup is a ***** but not impossible. My friend runs...

    Who makes the best sockets?

SO makes a ratchet that takes bits, you can't get much shorter than that. Where do you place the company that makes sockets others don't? My bets are you already have decided what you want. When you put price in it the question going to skew the answers. Will just turn into those that spend the...

Why are Snap-On toolboxes so expensive?

It is hard to separate tools from toolboxes as the SO thing works as a whole package. Non auto shop employees have a hard time getting SO service if they are not in industry. My two cents is they would have a harder time with industrial cabinets. Don't think the focus is on single cabinet...

Why are Snap-On toolboxes so expensive?

On your mission to peddle Rousseau couple of points. They don't sell tools. Prior to the internet they were a great source of information, had a issue with ** can you talk to the guys at yy and ask them. Often he would know they are using this tool or do this to expedite the job. Plus when I...

Why are Snap-On toolboxes so expensive?

There are two schools of thought in this thread those that have used the tools and understand the niche they serve, the second thought is SO is running a scam.

Why are Snap-On toolboxes so expensive?

Snap On takes a lot of heat over there market share. Most responses are similar to any sheet metal will hold tools. I have had Craftsman, Waterloo and few Huskey boxes they hold tools but they leave things like burrs on the metal cut myself a few times moving the boxes. The other item that comes...

Why are Snap-On toolboxes so expensive?

No It was mid 80's we didn't run about with cell phone cameras. To be really honest I am so glad we didn't have them so many things are better enjoyed unrecorded and reviewed by the general public. The car weighed 950lbs which is really not that much.

Why are Snap-On toolboxes so expensive?

I have a 50 year old taco box have had many other boxes and none put up with abuse that my SO boxes have. When we used to clean the shop floor we put the formula car on the Taco box made it easier to move about. I have one box with a 3 in 1 on the top miller drill and lathe and 2k lbs in tooling...
