What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I've been kind of eyeing the copper chapstick sleeves that some of the EDC crowd carries, so I decided to make one from some copper pipe. Most of the ones I've seen leave the end of the tube (the twist end) sticking out, but I thought that looked sloppy. So I made mine with a little cap for...

    Uses for a pressure washer?

Our whole street is rental units and the place has been mismanaged into the ground. We have had roads and yards torn up for a drainage installation for 8 months. The place looks like hell. I keep the yard mowed as best I can with all the construction debris in it, but the property managers...

    Uses for a pressure washer?

Yeah, like I said, my cars get a run through the $5 carwash every two months, whether they need it or not - lol. No muddy toys.

    Uses for a pressure washer?

I received a pressure washer for Christmas and I am darned if I can think of any use at all for it. I rent my house, so I don't wash the exterior or the deck. I have a small driveway that gets gravel and mud on it from the gravel road, but a shovel and a garden hose would be just as quick. I...

That tool you have no idea you needed

Hose clamp pliers. Never needed them until I literally had to have them to release a very obstructed clamp on my cooling system. When you need them, they're indispensible. I would have bought them just for that one clamp job.

Right-handed, bench vise on right, 10" woodworker's vise on left.

PSA: Kidde recalling MOST plastic handled fire extinguishers

Number two of two just got here today. I'm very satisfied with how they handled the recall. Amusingly, FedEx seemed to know why I was requesting a pick up before I told them. The girl said that they had been getting a lot of fire extinguishers. The

Question on using vinegar to clean tools

Regular vinegar seems to work fine for me when I use it. I wonder if the OP had his vinegar bath out where it was cold? It's a chemical reaction, so it'll be slower in a cold environment. Any grease, oil, or paint will also slow or block the desired reaction. FWIW, I prefer electrolysis if I...

PSA: Kidde recalling MOST plastic handled fire extinguishers

Surely their company must have had an insurance policy to cover needed recalls? I submitted two on 11.3 and haven't gotten any back yet.

    Show your "Long C" Craftsman!

That hand drill looks like a Millers Falls. Is it another clone made for Craftsman? Their 107.1 line encompassed several distinct models of drill under the same Sears part number.
