Yes on control joints ( saw cuts ). Mine were right where I wanted to put my posts. Rough rule of thumb is 6.25 inches away from the the control joint. However, with upgraded anchors/install - I can get to within 2.25 inches. This makes a big difference when having to place 6.25 inches...
