The El Camino is one of those projects that was fun while it lasted. now it's a had it once lol
It's a complete redue, Engine is out, interior out, glass gone, paint job destroyed and the bed is in bondo now waiting on the wood floor to appear.
Spent the day working on the big C.O.E. this week since my SIL came out from Arizona to lend a helping hand. We took the sleeper off the truck and built the floor for it. Also cut the right side panel out for an entry door. Now I'll try to build a stair way and a door for it.

This week is the week for working on the COE. So I moved the truck outside the shop to get the fork lift close enough to lift the sleeper off the truck

Had a helper drop by today so I decided to get the ford blackhawk tool board hung which meant moving some stuff around to make room for the new board. I've been on the hunt for the old tools that hang on the board and only need 3 more to complete it.

Got the call from the chrome shop so I went out and picked up the final pieces for the glass lantern and finished it up tonite. So this is only project # 6 this year. Running behind on the smaller projects while I spend time on the El Camino and the COE .
Now to find the perfect place for it...
Found a little time to work on the inside bed panel today. I needed to raise the lines of the indents to give me a clean straight line for the wood floor
There are 10 panels inside the bed and I got 3 of them raised today
Great news!! The COE is drivable so I pulled it out of the shop so I could clean up a bit and trade places with the El Camino
Found a water leak and an oil leak after the truck ran for about 5 minutes
Worked on the El Camino today. Made a template for cutting the wood for the bed. Since I'm going to repaint the beast I thought this will be a nice little enhancement and I will be modifying the bed sides just i bit to get nice smooth lines with the wood
Well I took the day off today so Ann and I could take the Zephyr out for a run. We ended up at a local car show at the Bob's Big Boy hamburger restaurant. So we went in and had lunch before the show. We came home with another winning plaque for the trophy case. (Best of show)
