    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT 24x30 First shop for Binders and Crawlers

Long time no post. Work offered up an opportunity I couldn’t refuse so ended up in the SLC area for almost two years on a large capex project. Long term this will pay off and well not too many chances to do what we did. Always fun having crane lifts of 750K pounds on the hook, and using crawler...

My HF Daytona jack vs Michelin (MVP) - pic heavy!

Nice, looks like it has a solid reach to it. I'll be in need of something like that once I lower my travelette to be able to reach under it. My old trust craftsman 3 ton is in need of a rebuild and my ProEagle is only good for the 4wd toys since it's on bigger wheels and has a nice extension...

What’s everyone’s favorite safety sunglasses for and AFTER work?

It's not my favorite playing with 4kv+ in monsoons but that is the reality of what I do. That much rain doesn't play nice with anything but I have a job to do and it has to get done. I get where you're coming from but I also don't work in urban areas were a replacement set is two blocks...

What’s everyone’s favorite safety sunglasses for and AFTER work?

I have nicer PPE because most of the job sites I'm on, stuff isn't a click away. Working in 3rd world countries with barely any WiFi much less the infrastructure to handle our One Click Away mentality will encourage good habits of protecting tools, PPE, etc. I use Jackson Nemisis, or Oakley SI...

    3 Car Residential Garage Expansion

Looks good man! Nice way to work around the HOA stuff, and gain some very usable space.

Jack Stands - how wobbly is "too wobbly"?

Full extension there is a minimal amount of support from the pad as there is just enough left inside the stand. If you're measuring play at the pad remember that it will be greater there than at the stand. Also need some slop in there otherwise it wouldn't be as easy to adjust since you'd...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Little trick for you, drop the oil pan while you are at it. Get a 22lr sized bristled bore brush, it is the right size for sending down the oil return in the SV heads and out the bottom (hence pulling the oil pan). Run it through a few times and the passage should be nice and clean. Should be...

    Inexpensive thermal image cameras.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C2FATQ0/?tag=atomicindus08-20 This is what I use when I travel for work to diag or commission equipment. Mainly use it for bearings, drives, etc out on mine sites and other less than pleasant places for tools. It works very well for diag and during...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got the buggy all mocked up so I can start on the chassis/driveline table and get the build under way.

Finally felt like I had everything in order enough to start using the garage, finally. Next time, I need to use the cherry picker and not a jack to put wheels on axles :lol_hitti... rear went fine but the front. Well, there is a nice spill from hydraulic fluid coming out of the ram as the...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Roboto's Garage

Take a look at the Logitech Bluetooth receiver. I added one, as I don't really have a need for anything more than BT music from the phone. Cheap, and has RCA outputs. $20 on Amazon... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IQBSW28/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Quick back story on the truck I had (well still have just in pieces) and what I am building. First car was a 66 IH scout 800 with a 283 chevy in it. Built it up slowly until it was stolen and never recovered when I was in college. Took a few years away from wheeling, and when I came back to...

Thanks, trying to get things setup so I can get the buggy built and going. Yeah, just went from where I was renting in Lakewood to up in Wheat Ridge at my own place and gain more garage space and less house to clean. I'm sure we know some of the same people... The story I got at closing on the...

Helps that I am moved in and not not having to go back and forth. Yeah, it's a huge difference. So far I really like it. I got it used off of a good friend as he got a new Alpha TIG. He built a rear cab enclosure, bed, and roof for his lexus FJ 40 hybrid. So you'll like that machine for...

Well, now that I am finally settled in, it is time to get after a few small projects and get going on the car. First, a couple from inside the house. Ikea is nice but eats up time assembling everything. Still need to cut some pockets and hide cables but that is low priority right now...

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

I have 2 4x4 shops that will refill the powertank tanks that are on the way home from work. I went over to an on board compressor as I wasn't airing up enough to justify the refills and went to an air locker which is simpler IMHO to just plumb on air and not CO2. As that is something I don't...

You'd be cutting it close then. That's the nice part with your set-up, it fits 2 tanks nicely, and takes that worry away. Much nicer to just get out and have fun and not worry about things like that.

That 10lb will go a lot longer than you think. Especially if it is kept vertical while using so you can get all of the CO2 you can out of the bottle. But having a spare is nice too, just in case. Unless you're going from 5 to 55 psi, I bet 1 bottle will cover a week. The single 10lb bottle I...

    1/2 drive.... how important

Nope, I have a 3/4" set and it get used plenty. Need to do a wheel bearing or axle joints on my 3/4 Ton dodge... for example, that set has the size I need. Same with some of the ball joint set's I've done in the past, that set has been handy.
