    Under hood LED Light Bars

I also have the Monster rechargeable. It's fantastic. Their rechargeable drop lights are spectacular as well. The underhood light can also be used for interior jobs. Just open the doors and clip it to the jambs under the headliner. You won't regret buying one of these...

Need Advice on Starter Woodworking Setup

I think you ought to consider a hand tool shop. For less than the price of a quality cabinet saw, you can have an entire shop set up. Read "The Anarchists Tool Chest" for a good explanation of the tools you need for high-end furniture building. Many can be had for a song. You need to: Break...

    Updated Chinese Cut50F Group Buy

Aquamoose, can you confirm you got my new ship-to address? I'm not sure my PMs are sending correctly as my "Sent" box has zero messages. I am moving this coming week and am hooing you can ship to the new house (it's in a different state). Thank you! Jim

    Sure shot?

It's a very high quality piece of equipment. You won't be unhappy. I keep mine filled with the garage journal 50/50 acetone/ATF penetrating oil. Edit: I don't like having brake cleaner in my shop. It is extremely dangerous stuff.

    2135QTi Max wouldn't break lugnuts

No way mine is putting out enough torque to break studs.

    2135QTi Max wouldn't break lugnuts

No, I removed the regulator. The compressor is very old, with a 30 gallon tank. It does puff its way up to 125 psi though.

I suspected not enough air, actually. Air tools are a new upgrade to my garage. Looks like a compressor upgrade may be in my future...

    2135QTi Max wouldn't break lugnuts

Hey guys, I have a new IR2135 quiet Ti Max impact wrench. My compressor is an old cast iron two-stage with a crappy limit switch. It cuts out at 125 psi and restarts at 75 psi. I plan to fix this when the weather is better. I removed the regulator and run it wide open into the impact wrench...

School me on motor starting solutions

Thanks for this great discussion, guys. I'm home this evening and will post details about the motor. I can put a clamp probe on it and measure inrush current while on municipal power. The generator is connected to the hose panel through an interlock. Same symptoms when I turn off all circuits...

School me on motor starting solutions

It's a 240V motor. I will look at how large. I was hoping to figure out a solution other than a bigger generator. I'll keep my eye out for an 003. I got my 002 for $600.

School me on motor starting solutions

Hey guys, Had a recent extended power outage and was feeling pretty damned cocky about my military surplus generator. If you haven't looked in to these, it's right up the alley of most on this board. Mine is an MEP-002a, which is a 5KW steady state, 10KW peak at 10,000 feet above sea level...

    Welder and compressor wiring

Thanks, guys. Duh. A small sub panel is clearly the answer.

Wheel device to lift tire & wheel to hub

Those who say you can muscle it up have never tried to change a fluid-filled tire on even a small piece of heavy equipment like a skid steer. I'm a very strong, 300 lb dude and lifting those tires and then trying to get them aligned on the studs damn near killed me. I ended up lowering the...

    What tools to carry EDC.

Many years ago in high school, I used to secretly carry a small Allen wrench (it may have been 3/16") I could use to adjust thermostats in my classrooms. My classrooms were all pleasantly cool. It took a few days to figure out exactly what I needed. I actually saw some teachers fighting over it...

    Welder and compressor wiring

I know these kinds of questions are asked frequently. I did search for similar situations. It seems to me that what I want to do is the equivalent of having multiple 240V outlets on a single breaker, which should be totally fine. Only everything is hard wired and no outlets are used. Just more...

    Welder and compressor wiring

Hey guys, couple questions about wiring a new welder and compressor. My main house panel is in my garage, which is nice. It's 250A service. There is a 100A 240V breaker that controls a small panel in the basement. There is a 30A 240V breaker for the AC. First question: I know you can't...

    recomend starter wood plane

Couple other thoughts: A "cabinet scraper" is just a piece of metal with a straight edge that is used to finish wood. The finish from a cabinet scraper puts any sanded finish to shame. It is essentially a very fine smoothing or finishing plane that you hold by hand. It's easy to sharpen (it is...
