Welder opinions Hobart mig and stick

I have the Hobart AC/DC and the Hobart 140 and do the same thing your talking about, and the stick will weld 1/2 mild steel with no problem, as much as I like Mig I still prefer stick, I weld outside and weld lot's of pipe and most of the time old pipe out of oil wells is nasty pipe, so that's...

    Rapidair vs hydraulic lines

I ran Rapid air last year and love it, the best part of the rapid air system is anytime you want to add a drop or a hose reel, it as easy as pie, and takes 10 mins, to cut and install a Tee the only place I have the Hydraulic hose is from the compressor through the wall to the inside of the...

Harbor Freight Air Compressors? GTG or no?

At my old job we had a 80gal. blow the bottom off at 160psi. It went through a overhead door and the metal roof, and landed about 30 yards outside of the shop, these thing with a pin hole is not a joke, my big compressor is mounted outside in its own little spot Back to the OP question. Things to put in/checklist before pouring a pad?

I installed 2" PVC conduit from my breaker box location to the other side of the shop its cheaper to go across than around when you decide you want a 50+ amp service on the other side of your shop. Other thing I did was cement a 4" piece of heavy pipe 3' below slab with cross rods welded into it...

    Rust removal

Clean it up with a wire brush on a 4 1/2 Grinder, then wipe it down with boiled linseed oil and not worry about rust again, I know it's for wood but works great on metal I keep it on my drill press table and pole, band saw table and my welding table. Safety of Arc Welding Helmets

To me it depends on which HF you have the blue one you will get the flash sometimes when striking a arc. The Red one is much better of a hood plus you can switch it to grind mode. I keep the red one for a back-up, my main hood is a snap-on large view. The down side is to put the snap on in grind...

Installing air lines in the garage

Nothing against anyone using Black pipe, But here in Texas where we have days with 100% humidity it would take a act of god to find any Brand new at the store without surface rust already inside before you even start trying to install it, and I agree 100% with a water separated and filter...

    Lighting: Overboard, or WAY overboard?

I would go with the A19 Fat, it will have less shadows. No matter how many Lums you have if you get shadows it will drive you crazy.
