    Makita Addiction Thread

Does anyone have the makita hydraulic impact XST01Z? I feel like I need it...or want it? Curious how much quieter it really is?

Battery impact wrench for a guy who hates power tools?

You mentioned the concern with throwaway batteries. If that is a concern stick with the nicer brand equipment. I had some cheaper home center brand tools and the batteries didn't last long. Eventually, I went with Makita in my case and the batteries have lasted significantly longer, so less...

    The Bicycle (Specialty) Tools Thread

Would you mind sharing which hub tools you are using for the DT hubs? Is it a set specific to them? I have a hodge podge of stuff and can't say I really like any of the hub tools I am using. I have also struggled a bit getting the star ratchets out, more so on the stupid 4 pawls and getting...

    The Bicycle (Specialty) Tools Thread

I reuse shimano links about 5 times, mixed results but generally okay. YBN links are advertised as being able to be used 5 times. I have used them more than 5 times with good results. They seem to work fine on sram, shimano, and of course ybn chains. I personally like the YBN chains more than...

    The Bicycle (Specialty) Tools Thread

I have been mostly pretty happy with my DT swiss stuff. Lately though I seem to have run across several that after rebuild/service they have a lot of drag. Not sure what I am doing wrong but this isn't an issue I had prior to this season... Not a fan of the DT swiss 4 pawl hubs though... I have...

    My 2-Car Porcelain Tile Install....

There isn't a " Go To" thinset, there is a reason all the manufacturers make a dozen different types of thinset. They are application specific. Whats the reason you feel like you need redguard? You would probably be better off starting your own thread with your specific details.

    HOA horrors?

Like others have mentioned, an HOA may or may not be bad, it's important you do your research into the one you are looking at and see what it really is like. I would also recommend being a member of the board if you can once you move in so that you have more voice than someone else. I live in...

funny - a flooring section! Self level over really stuck vinyl tiles?

Are they vinyl tiles, or vct? I wouldn't even consider putting anything over a vinyl tile, frankly not over vct either. Heat is your friend for removing these tiles though. If it is vinyl tile then heat gun, if it is vct you can use a heat gun or use a weed burner torch to move quicker. Or...

Whole home reverse osmosis on a well/septic

I would look at a whole house filter that is designed to handle arsenic and then just do a smaller RO system for drinking/cooking. You can get filters that take out Arsenic 3 and 5 and from what I understand work well and aren't crazy expensive.

    Makita Addiction Thread

I bought one of these, it showed up in what appears to be a perfectly sealed package just like your picture but I can see through the plastic that it has been used. The bump is scratched up and there is grass all over it. Not sure if I open it up and try it or just send it back to amazon and try...
