Yeah it is probably painted...the wrinkle finish must just show up a lot more in this color than the original green. The box is green on the inside.

I'm having a hard time making out the "finger prints" from the pictures, are they similar to this box? I've wondered if this was an original finish...

Post a better pic of the sockets Beemer, I know I have a number of hex drive cad sockets floating around and I'd be happy to dig through them.

Now if I can just get the box cleaned up without ruining all the adhesive on the label...it's already pulling up a bit. Here are the auction lots, the box closed at $24, the misc wrenches at $15, and the Plomb at $10. After fees and taxes it was $68. I would have gotten the Plomb lot for $5...
