Haul-Master lift cart (Harbor Freight) experience?

I know this is an old thread, but I've owned one of these hydraulic tables (same model with the rubber plug) for years and use it frequently, warts and all. But, after years of keeping a variety of lengths of sticks to place in the track to lower the table to various specific points, to prevent...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

Busted! :) Yup saw that response. I decided not to use that as a lifting point. Instead, I used the two holes in the upper casting for sneaking the retirement light cord through the casting. Plenty large enough to place a hook in and distributed the load more than adequately. Also more stable...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

This isn't my bandsaw, but I have the same Delta 14in model, with the same riser. Can anyone identify the function of the boss in the circle? I'm wondering if I can use it as a lifting point to get my bandsaw off/on it rolling base. I seem to recall the saw weighs maybe 300lbs total, and that...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

I've got a 1944 Delta Milwaukee 14in wood/metal bandsaw that I inherited from my dad along with a 15in drill press, a 12in disc sander, and a 9in radial arm saw, all vintage Delta, and all of which I still use regularly. I've already restored the drill press and disc sander and now am doing the...

    Beacon Morris BRT-045 Not Working

I did indeed call someone else and there' testing was much more comprehensive. He cleaned the sensors found a loose wire and noticed some heat induced discoloration on the board around some power resistors, that the first guy apparently overlooked. He cycled the power and the NG numerous times...

I couldv'e sworn I saw this post here...

I could've sworn I saw this pic and nearly a dozen others of a beautiful restoration of this particular Delta Milwaukee 14in bandsaw on the pages of this website but can't find it again. Can anyone point me to it?

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

I have a 1944 wood/metal Delta Milwaukee 14in bandsaw that I inherited from my dad, is fully functional, and I still use frequently. I'm planning to install the means for dust/chip removal directly underneath the table insert with my shop vac but it's pretty tight under there. Can anyone...

    Beacon Morris BRT-045 Not Working

I know this is an old thread but my Beacon Morris BRT-045 heater just failed after 12 years. Had a local HVAC contractor out to look at it, and all he found was the 24volt circuit read just 16V until he wiggled some wires. This contractor doesn't work on Beacon Morris heaters so he didn't want...

talk me into or out of buying a small horizontal bandsaw

I have had this same saw for over 10 years and it works great on steel, but I cut aluminum with wood cutting blades, albeit on another saw. Doesn't surprise me it took so long. Metal cutting blade TPI (teeth per inch) is too fine for aluminum. Also the teeth will load up with aluminum.

    Custom Modified Fender Washer

It's been mentioned already but the slugs left over from hole-sawing make dandy fender washers. I save all mine and they come in handy. The OP would likely have to address the ID diameter, but hole-sawing some of the appropriate material would accomplish what he needs.

    Drill press vises?

Anybody that hits the vice with the drill bit should be slapped every occurrence.

Using tempered hardboard for workbench top...

My bench is made from two sheets of 3/4in ply glued and screwed together with a sheet of 1/8in masonite lying on top. I have 1in wide molding running the perimeter of the top to keep the masonite in place, If the masonite gets too ugly simply slide it out and replace it. But in 12 years that...

    Garage Fans

When I completed my 28ft x 30ft detached shop in 2013, I was disappointed to find that the ceiling mounted 18KBTU Beacon Morris furnace would keep the upper 5feet of the room toasty but anything below my belt was cold. I installed a Hampton Bay "aerodynamic" ceiling fan and it made all the...

    power cord reel

I'm trying to find a "shortish" retractable power cord reel to attach to my shop vac. Don't need a 100-footer, more like 25, in a compact size. Any ideas?
