What's a good brand for corded electric impact wrench?

I'm that guy too. I/ve had that one for 2-3 years, even left it in the bed of the truck in the rain.... sprayed it down with tri-flow and it's still going .

    Which Torque Wrench to Buy???

I have a snap on and a Craftsman 3/8 clicker. They both click at the same time on a test fastener. I use the SO more because it has a flex head and it's easier to set but the craftsman is just as accurate but more bulky. I think I paid 69 bucks on sale for the craftsman and 150 used for the...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Bought a pair of these on sale at advance auto.... and they're going straight back. They're heavy which would have been ok if the "compound" gimmick worked... My Crescent needle nose cut easier than these and they're no where near the same size channel lock dykes for pure cutting pleasure! ;-)

Ahhhhh Sooo. Sank you! I didn't buy it, it was in a junk pile. I'll use it though! I have to find a cool old vise but in the meantime "Numbah 4" is going to have to do! Thanks!

    Identify this Vise?

This vice has nothing on the other side, It looks like an old craftsman but it doesn't have the right markings. After looking through 1000 google images, I can't find one. Do you know anything about this vise?

    Idle Hands

Wow, thanks for the positive comments! I used needle nose pliers to bend it. That large "outrigger" has to be that size or it falls over...

    Idle Hands

    Idle Hands

I've been sidelined by an injury and while doing nothing, I made this out of wire hanger.... I know, it ***** and it's uneven... but it works! (for a non-pro)

What's a budget value tire inflator for my air compressor? (NO Snap On for $560)

Stay away from the HF one that looks like that. It's worthless. The chuck doesn't seal and the latch doesn't stay put.

    Is Craftsman still worth it?

i was bummed when their professional line disappeared. I'm still sourcing the pro screwdrivers online, those are grrrrrreat! For the home owner and weekend mechanic, Craftsman is still worth it. I for one am not going to wal-freight and buying sockets or wrenches or anything I'm going to keep...

The Astro Pneumatic Suggest a Tool Give Away

I'd like a cordless drop light(with magnetic base and back strip) that actually directs light on the job at hand. I've tried several and they all went back because they don't light the area like a conventional drop light.

Measuring and drilling on a curve?

I didn't disappear, I got sidelined with siatica. After everyone answered my question, I didn't want ppl to think I just disappeared. As soon as I can stand up straight, I'll get it taped up and drilled and post pictures, good or bad.

Thanks for the quick response! I did as you suggested and added a little more info to the profile, I never really thought i'd be asking questions here, now there's no end to them! I do have a ***** punch, (had to look that up, I call it something else) and I'm going to try it the way you...

Measuring and drilling on a curve?

HI! maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I want to drill holes bigger toward the center then smaller as the rows go toward the outer edge.(to start) on the left half of one of these: (you know to make it go faster..hehe) The raised surface to the left of the trim ring in the...

Snap On Date Code Chart up to 2029!

Can someone clarify this: I looked at this chart (at the top of this thread) and the 1966 mark is a 6 looking 6. The chart here has the 6 as a lower case b (but squared) the wrenches in my box have the lower case b. Were there 2 stamps in any year other than 86? There is no stamp at all on the...

    Bending Polycarbonite?

HI! Not sure if this is the place to ask, if not please redirect me. I make my own windshields for my bike out of lexan. These are for a harley with a fairing, the shields are about 10" high by 24 more or less. the new fairings are much more sharply curved so If I just tighten it in...

Official "show me your specialty sockets" thread

I don't know if home made is acceptable, but here is the slotted socket I use to remove or adjust the 9/16th's nut that holds the passing lamps on older model harley touring bikes. The slot is there because there's a wire coming out of the center of the nut for the turn signal that is mounted...
