Concrete slab with vapor barrier question

Yeah I kinda thought that wasn't a good idea, I can't figure out why someone would do that. Is he honestly thinking the cement will seal the cut up? Seems pretty unlikely to me. And don't they have other ways to get the level of the floor right? It should be pretty dry where its at, but I was...

Concrete slab with vapor barrier question

So the concrete contractor I had do my 30'x44' slab, cut about 4 slits in the vapor barrier. Looked to me like he pounded stakes in the middle to get a depth, when pouring the floor. I questioned him about the cuts and he said when they pound the stakes down, that the cement will close the slits...

Garage door height, sidewall height and roof overhang

Yeah my doors are on the eave side. What did you end up with for garage door height then? Guess I could always put a door in the gable end if I can’t live without the 9’ door. But I‘ve gotten pretty used to working outside on the trailer and snowmobiles anyway. But it will be nice to get them...

Garage door height, sidewall height and roof overhang

Yeah, 8ft doors are around $600-$900 cheaper, per door, depending on the style door I get. The only possible thing I have now is a 20ft+ enclosed snowmobile trailer, which is just under 9ft tall, but I don't plan on putting that in the garage. I feel like that would take up too much of the...

Garage door height, sidewall height and roof overhang

Yeah, right now the tallest things I would put in the garage would be my 78 K5 Blazer with 4" lift 33" tires. Think I had about an inch clearance on a 7ft. door. So 8ft. would work great. Otherwise a 19-20ft open bow, I/O boat, can't remember how that went in the 7ft door. I will have to get a...

Garage door height, sidewall height and roof overhang

Hey guy's this is my first post. I'm building a stick built garage, 30'x44'x10' plus one row of 8" brick sidewall. I'm trying to figure out what would be the best garage door height to use, my thought was 9' at first, a just in case thought. But with the overhang on the 8/12 pitch roof at 2'...
