    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT 1950s Craftsman Garage retro remodel

Thanks! It feels awesome to be back!(y) Yeah, I do keep thinking of ways to make it work, but right now the real estate is key. If I found a ‘grail’ fridge like a ‘35 Coldspot or Shelvador, it might be a different story! Very kind of you to say so, thank you! I’ve got so much more...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Aces High Speed Shop's New Home - 36x40x14

Those old Tundras are lengendary. There is at least one (but maybe more?) that have it 1mil+ miles and still going. Our 3rd gen 4runner has 375k on the clock and keeps going. Condolences on the recent loss.

Thanks! My hope with the AC was to get it charged back up so I could finally put it together then have it live outside. Will make a massive difference to the footprint of the space, since we are only dealing with about 400sq ft. I sort of forgot about it last night after I turned the vacuum...

Love the detail in the big and little things - it is to such a high standard, as usual! It's great to see you still at it!

Okay a few pics from today. Here is the condensing unit... Here is where we are at w/ the microns...not too bad! We'll see how it is after resting for a bit. Here is the shelf work. It was a real disaster before... And beyond the Craftsman-y stuff, here is the real reason...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT 1950s Craftsman Garage retro remodel

Well, today I had an ultra rare day of no wifey or kiddos (they made a surprise visit to the MIL since she hurt her ankle the other day), which gave me a few hours of purely uninterrupted time. Instead of just plopping down on the couch, I set to work. I am fully engaged now in 'Operation...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT 1950s Craftsman Garage retro remodel

I can't believe I started this thread back in 2011!!! I started it before I had kids, now I have two and they are in the double digits! Thank you for the kind words. The Craftsman love is alive and well, and just for the heck of it, I wandered over to the Vintage Machinery website to look...

Wow, it's been a minute. I saw someone (from 2 years ago) found one of those '42 Craftsman bench vises. Not sure if they ever picked it up. Very cool. I ended up selling most of the Craftsman machinery, getting rid of the art deco shelving, and moving on. JUST kidding! To be...

LONG C Craftsman 5169 Vise: Age / Value?

I'm way late to the party here, but if the OP is still around, did you ever pick this one up? I hope so. This is a fantastically rare vise, in fact this is the only picture I've ever seen of one in the wild. Hopefully you snagged it.

Hear hear. I'll try to get out this weekend to snap some shots of the current state as well as some of the projects happening out there. Lots of irons in the fire! The big project is that I need to clear out all the bikes that I've been helping a local non-profit sell. I hear that bikes have...

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it! Family is doing good - kids are growing quick. I am now working in the HVAC industry, which I am very grateful and thankful for, especially during this time. I'm really enjoying it, and it is fun with the group I work with. I picked up a '73 Husky 400...

I've always enjoyed these relatively short-lived WWII era Craftsman presses. Nice find.

Oh, and there was another project that entered the 50s Craftsman Garage, of a slightly younger vintage. Let's see how many of you recognize it...

A fellow local tipped me off that there was some activity going on in here (Cruzan80 was it you??). In any case, the email got me all nostalgic thinking about Garage Journal. I really do love this place. I started this thread 10 years ago! I really owe all of you following along an apology...

Vintage Craftsman toolbox/roller cabinet advice please

I have this same box/cabinet combo, and it's awesome. Very hard to come by as well. I would take a moment to just stop, pause, and reflect on your grandfather - there is a man who knew tools. Mine is in overall solid condition, but was pretty dirty from years of neglect. There are no real...

Cool, I didn't know about that youtube series. I've really enjoyed the book. I'm far from his level of expertise, but one of these days, I'm going to own an old car. That toastmaster is fabulous. The Super Deluxes (1950s) were fun to learn about - that you could take a piece of toast, drop...

Here is the latest project to come through the 1950s Craftsman Garage - As most of you who have followed this escapade for any length of time know, I am a huge fan of 20th century Americana, as is represents an unprecedented time of innovation, invention, and American industry that we are...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT 1950s Craftsman Garage retro remodel

Wow, I'm a jerk haha. I left y'all hanging for too long! Well, here is the result of my latest find: Funny how it doesn't seem to 'guard' very well from the inside. But some of that can be adjusted. I went by the estate sale on the second morning, and brought the kids so they could...
