The gray box says "Bureau of Aeronautics US Navy". All parts except the ratchet are dual labeled with the Plomb number and the NAF number. The red box is the 4800 series, 9/32" drive.

I dug out my 1/4" sets tonight to get some pictures. This will take a couple of posts. After putting all of the sets back up, I noticed I had another box of 1/4" pieces. The open drawer shows the extra pieces I haven't done anything with yet. I also thought I got all of the 4751's into one...

These are still old pictures. It shows three more complete 1/2" sets, and two complete 3/4" sets that are in new red boxes. I have one old 3/4" box, I just haven't transferred the tools to it.

These are the tools that belonged to my Dad. My nephew was very close to him, so I gave them all to him. Most of them have the Plomb logos ground off. You can barely see some of that in the pictures. The small black bag is full of very small wrenches that I remember using as a youngster...

My garage is more full of car stuff than tools, so it is a real mess. One picture is just an example of what it is like sometimes. Then there is a closer picture to the rear of the garage with several large sockets on top of a tool box. There's actually two boxes there with 1" sets in them...

It will be a while before I can take new pictures of some of my stuff, so I'll just post some old ones for now. This 9980 box is primarily full of WF tools. The drawers also include many small wrenches (in addition to the WF's), and some screwdrivers.

These are my Firestone sets made by Plomb. I've also included copies of the Firestone catalog to show that they were available in 1948.

I have no idea. They are all the same basic design, just different lengths.

This is probably my favorite 1/4" ratchet.

My tools aren't organized well enough to get a good picture of them. For this picture I just pulled out a sample of each ratchet. There are 4 minis because they are all a bit different. I'm pretty sure I have about 200 ratchets, most of them in the 1/4" size.

Another reason for grinding off the logo was if the part didn't pass QA for retail. However, all of the ones I had were fine, except for the ground off logo.
