Finally installed the Mr. Cool 12k heat pump.

My garage is 19x24 with 12 foot ceilings. But has a bedroom over the top so the ceiling is insulated and shares 2 walls with the house so those are insulated too. Insulated doors that only get the morning sun (facing east). The 12k has no issues keeping it at my set temp, which for now what...

wall rack system for hanging stuff?

I did some more research and pro-slat might be the winner. I hate proprietary stuff.

wall rack system for hanging stuff?

I'm converting a large closet to my outdoor gear room. I have so many packs and camping gear, it's going to look like the backpack section at REI... I was thinking of running a 2 or 3 rows of garage track so I can use modular hooks to hang all my stuff. Lowes and HD sell their versions, and I...

Finally installed the Mr. Cool 12k heat pump.

I’m surprised how little water comes out. Just a slow drip. No issues so far. Not like the gusher of the whole house condensate pump.

Finally installed the Mr. Cool 12k heat pump.

It pokes out the bottom of the first 90 elbow so it’s a straight shot down from the unit.

Finally installed the Mr. Cool 12k heat pump.

Yes the DIY with 25' line set. I used a 25' extension cord to mock up where the line set would go and placed the head on the wall so I'd have a foot or 2 extra. That worked well. I'd rather one extra loop than coming up short! The pigtail, or appliance whip, goes from the disconnect box to the...

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

Yup good eye- I originally had the shed site in the flat spot but my wife made me move it closer to the fence because it would "look stupid" in the middle of the back yard.

Finally installed the Mr. Cool 12k heat pump.

After a month of planning I finally installed the Mr. Cool 12k BTU heat pump. It took me 1.5 days to do it all and it was very straight forward. It's blowing nice cold air right now. My brother-in-law talked me down from the 18k unit because he runs a 12k and it does perfect. Not only was it...

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

I should have a solution. I talked with my neighbor whose company did the slab. They're going to bring in a mini-escavator, cut hill back 2 feet, form a footer and concrete walls that are 6" above grade. Then backfill with gravel for drainage on the backside. Not sure what it'll cost me yet...

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

I didn't do anything. The crew that did the slab did the digging. I got the entire job done for $2,200, so I got a bargain job and now need to deal with the dirt before the shed shows up.

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

water can leak through- there's a trench around the bottom of the slab that goes all the way around. It's not like a basement. I just need to hold the dirt back and keep water from swimming pooling up the side of the shed.

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

My dad the civil engineer thinks I should just form up a small reinforced concrete wall that sticks up 6" above grade to force water around. Might cost more but it won't move or become an issue in the future.

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

It's going to house my 2 tractors, bicycles, and a shelf system with yard tools. But they are doing to bolt the walls directly to the slab as far as I know. I don't think there's any knee wall involved.

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

Yup, I can fill in front to make grade up to the door and also I have woods behind the house up the hill.

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

Here's the site plan for T-45. Spud- I didn't mean it won't fit, I mean I can't buy and store one. Not like I have a barn to keep it in. Renting, no problem. I have a 10' gate.

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

Also I'm too worried about a little water in the shed- it's a pre-fab amish built thing. I wanted a slab floor instead of wood 4x4's and plywood sitting on blocks.

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

My neighbor, who's crew put in the slab, thinks we can get by with a 6x6 pressure treated retaining wall. Run 3' of re-bar down through first course every foot. Then additional tiers with short rebar or bolts to the one below it. We're only directing water away during storms, otherwise it's as...

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

I'm on a 1/2 acre lot in a sub division, no room for a dingo. Is there something I can rent that'll move dirt better than a round point shovel and wheel barrow?

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

Oh man, what a project this is going to become. I guess I should start moving dirt and see how it goes from there. Obviously I need to take out a lot from that high corner and try to shallow out the grade so it doesn't collapse. Then work on a swale. If I need some block later on, I can do...

Slab is in- how to fix "wall of dirt" from cutting it into a slope

I took a pic of that last "gully washer" we had. The brown is a river going through the back yard. The little red flags were the slab's proposed site. I ended up moving it 3' closer to the fence after this photo was taken.
