    Concrete prep questions

What is the best product/application to fill cracks? I have an older slightly heaved garage floor that could use some attention. Although I'm not willing to spend a fortune, this method sounds like a good start and something that I could reasonably complete without dropping too much $$$$ (notice...

    Whats in YOUR pocket?

In the garage, there is usually a pencil in the back pocket, a utility knife, and a tape measure clipped on my pocket. At work it's always a click pen, fine point sharpie, mini notebook, valve wrench, intrinsically safe pelican flashlight, channel locks or a crescent wrench, and a Motorola mts...

    Can anyone identify this?

While going through my grandfather's garage this past year(little by little) we have found many interesting machinist's tools and relics. Here are some that my dad and I are just unfamiliar with. Anyone know more about these? I might have to post pics separately in replies, sorry.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Anyone know the value of this? The lettering reads, "massey's perfect vise" 3 1/2" width and at least 4 1/2" of travel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Show off your lathes

Aj, what would you consider "cheap" for a machine like that? It looks very nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Show off your lathes

This old Hendy engine lathe is one of my late Grandfathers. Just today I was learning on the Hamilton that sits 15 feet away from it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    City Final Inspection Yesterday!

Very nice! I'm perpetually in the planning stages of my garage upgrade and I hope it turns out half as nice. Would love to see pics of the setup and of course those bikes! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Overhead Lighting and Garage Door opened / Lights mounted to inside of garage door

Check out Mr. Jack Olsen's 12 gauge garage. He made some square tube arms that mounted to the side walls and hung a lamp out suspended below where the garage door runs. With a little engineering and forethought, I think it is a brilliant idea that could be adapted to many garage plans.

    Lets see your motorcycle lifts!

Thanks Slackerzinc! I definitely considered all my options but with as small of a garage, there was only one solution in my mind. I wish I would have spent the time to bury it in the slab and make a 1/4 steel plate to cover it though. I find myself working around that deck plate and cleaning...

    Who's living in their garage?

I'm divorced with a young daughter. Since then I've seriously considered selling the house (which I got to keep since it was upside down) If I move into an industrial type garage/warehouse building, I could easily build in an apartment and easily suit all my needs. The issue I will always have...

    Garage Wall Covering

If you've got the funds available to go that route, go right ahead. I often find myself putting the most reasonably priced things into my shop and more money into tools and toys. I absolutely agree with the idea of setting the place up right now because once the space is full and in use, it is...

    fastening Cabinets to Block Wall

Agreed. French cleats are very nice. If you plan the cabinets as somewhat of a modular system you can easily move them around if need be in the future too. Dont underestimate tapcons and spax style masonry screws. They do their job well if predrilled and installed correctly.
