    Bit Ratchets

I get these ratchets as Titan-brandes bit kits at O'Reilly's. Love 'em. I used it for the same job on the same car. It was the only tool that would get the job done.

    Tools from the old world

Thank you for the help! Looks like they are the Proto 228G. I'm going to get a pair. I think I'm really going to like them for their stiffness when bending against the jaws when doing fine work with hard materials (i.e. thick wire).

What work pants do you guys wear?

Fjallraven Vidda Pros. I'm addicted to these things. Changed my perception of what pants should be. Double knee with foam insert pockets, waxed canvas, perfect pockets, good belt loop layout.

    Favorite needle nose pliers.

I don't think I've ever heard someone describe SO pliers like this. I didn't even realize how nice pliers could be until I got my Talons. Man, are they finished nicely. The serrations are perfect, the joint smooth and strong.

Anyone have issues with Harbor Freight Daytona 3 ton (yellow) floor jack?

I used these to remove a broken zerk. Worked great. Search for "square screw extractor". I much prefer these to other extractors. They bite harder for me. Drill as required, tap them in with a hammer, turn with adjustable wrench.

    Favorite needle nose pliers.

My favorites, in order of preference, are: 1) Snap-On 95BCP...incredible for fine work. Simply phenomenal. The tines just don't bend, no matter what I put at the tips and twist. 2) Snap-On Talon 8"...talk about solid! These things are no joke. $35 off eBay. The joint is extremely solid and...

I have two of these. One is branded Topeak. I LOVE these things. Great for working in tight engine compartments or doing interior work. I've put extensions in the end and used them as mini cheater bars and they've help up to all the abuse. Thanks for the tip on reducing the backdrag.
