Don't know how to link other threads but August 10th there was a thread on here titled "pit floor". Was link to a video of farmer that diy'd what you are thinking of if I read you correctly. It went high enough to reach bed of pickup to load parts. Very interesting.

My wallet groaned a bit but I think that lift in the pit is awesome. Planning on pit build next year. Guess Ill be googling pits with lifts for the next few hours. :eyecrazy:

I'm no expert by any means but a friend of mine built a new house about 5 years ago. Cools real nice all summer. Uses wood boiler outside. Circulates all evening and maybe the daytime too. Zero moisture problems , might be climate dependant? About a 1200sqft story and 1/2.

Second or third putting earplugs all around your shop. Also safety glasses. I have good quality hearing protection and safety glasses but buy the cheapies by the box and leave them everywhere so never an excuse. Always have at least a couple pair of plugs in my work pants. That might be the best solution Ditch.

Used to keep the compressor in the basement laundry room plugged into dryer plug. Attached garage. But separate shop in the new place. Loved it there. Always warm could never hear it. Family hated it. They could alway hear it! :lol:

Almost on topic, for those of you that have compressor inside and use a muffler on the intake, how much reduction in noise? Approximately. Like 10%, 1/2, can't hardly tell it pumping? With a car type muffler do you want it to pull air in the same direction as it would if it was exhausting from...

Did the pad for a 30x46 on an acreage I own. Needed to take out 25 big fir trees. They were dangerously close to a powerline so hired a faller with proper insurance and permits to work next to the lines. Cost me $500. Been using one as a base for a yard sprinkler for last 30 years or so. Can be on a 45 degrees angle and happily pulses away and never falls over.

And if you are searching out used and it's not part of the inspection the insulation pieces really don't even have to match. Just get them where you find them.
