The last time I locked myself out of the house (many years ago), I was able to open a closed/locked basement window without breaking anything and squeezing through. Since then I've hidden an actual door key somewhere on the property. Much easier. If I remember where it is... Uh oh. :) Oh...

My first call would have been to an independent abatement company, the second to my insurance company. I would not let the builder anywhere near the house. Find your own contractor to fix the problem, let insurance pay for it, and maybe the insurance company will choose to go after the builder...

Not really an option. One wall is below grade against the front of the house, the second is below grade against the garage pad. The other two walls are both interior. Not possible to exhaust to the front of the house, or into/through the garage. I could potentially run a duct out to the left...

Quick update... I ordered the big filter hood for my ShopSmith dust collector...needed to do that as the one on the unit is *old*. And a couple of new collection hoses as the old ones were badly crimped. And I ordered two of the small Wen air filtration units. i was going to order one large one...

Is the warning for the opener or the lock? I browsed the directions for the opener and didn't see any warnings. Can't imagine why the opener would care. I have two similar belt drive Chamberlains on doors with extension springs. If it's specifically for the automatic lock, perhaps Chamberlain...
