    Snowblower blew up with pictures

Last winter in the heart of the blizzards I got hold of 3 blowers with blown motors. I pulled the gas motor off mine and put it on one of the others and sold it. Late in the summer I had purchased 2 DEK diesel motors and installed them. They can be had for $350 + shipping. They are LOUD AS HELL...

    HOT DEAL Index!!

I'll post pix of mine tomorrow, sheared the end right off. And no, I wasn't putting a hell of a lot of force on it either. Even their impact grade isn't a hell of a lot better. Caveat emptor!

    HOT DEAL Index!!

Just be careful with those little saws, they're finger biters. If you're looking, look on Craigslist, I just got an almost new Husqvarna 455 Rancher for $250. Those little saws aren't good for much other than an emergency clean up.

    Snap On Micrometers

I've had Starrett and Multutoyo for 20+ years. I had my Snap On mics for about 5 before I warrantied them and promptly sold them. I think those 2 tools are the reason my box has VERY few Snap On tools in it.

HF Hydraulic Strut Spring Compressor thoughts...

Seeing as how I almost had my nuts ripped from their moorings by their regular compressor I'd have to say stay away from it. FAR FAR AWAY!!! Seriously, look on tooltopia for one or look on any of the online for sale ads for one. I got a Klann and wouldn't trade it for anything!!

    Neiko Tools "USA"

To the OP, look for a set of Indestro wrenches. I needed a set to do the steering rack in Stinky and found them on fleabay for $17.50 delivered. The ones I got go from 6mm all the way up to 32mm.

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Here's my crew, all rescues of one sort or another. Charlie the Boxer was left outside to freeze to death and at 2 months old weighed less than a pound. Benny the Eskimo/ French Bulldog cross was going to not be resuscitated because it was a mis- breeding. Last but not least there's Katie the...

    Harbor Freight

One thing to ABSOLUTELY avoid is their strut spring compressor. I almost lost my right nut when the nut on the compressor failed and came off the all thread, bounced off my work table and laid me out in the floor.

    Concrete slab expansion joints

OK, but y'all still didn't answer the optimum spacing question I posed. I always wondered why they tied rebar on highway projects, now I know "The rest of the story" as it were.

    Concrete slab expansion joints

What would be the optimal spacing of rebar? I could really care less what the code dictates in my area. I just want to hear what the experts have to say about it since I'll be pouring a 20x30 pad in the spring and I want it to last and not crack all to hell. Welding them together isn't an issue...

Shoot some pictures of the pins, I'd like one of those boxes if possible. I might have a use for the pins, I make dies and moulds for a living.

    DIY oil change VS. dealership

VW's 1.8T motor is NOTORIOUS for sludging up, the early ones were so bad that a tech friend of mine said he's seen them so bad they'll only hold 2 quarts of oil and have cuts in the sludge where the crank goes.:wtf: Having said that, I change my own. We do group buys on Schaeffer oil and it...
