    Installing porch rail

I have a man door into my garage that has a large concrete step off the back side. It's probably a 3' drop so I'm going to put a porch rail on two sides. What is the best recommendation of how far from the edge to drill the concrete? I don't want it to crack long term. Thanks.

    New garage - very dissapointed!!!

Thank you. I have to point out it's a '69. I like the grills and tail lights on the 9 much better. :) I have to compliment you on your awesome response. I was very pleased with the engineer but had not thought of the things in your response. You made an excellent point and I appreciate your...

    New garage - very dissapointed!!!

Yes TY. Have done that many times and many more I'm sure! :D When I get the floor done, I plan on taking an old Coldspot fridge my Dad bought in '55 (that still works) out there to take apart and restore it.

    Show us your welding projects

I'm a crappy welder compared to a buddy of mine. However, I do come up w/ a cool idea now and then. :) Father in-law got me a cool diamond plate mailbox for Christmas one year. We were standing in the garage and I said it was too nice to put on a wood post. I took some header collectors, ****...

    New garage - very dissapointed!!!

The legal card was a paramount factor in this. The owner stood in front of me and went on and on how he was in it for the long haul and wanted to make it right because of their reputation. However, that was not until I sought legal assistance, made him aware of it and demanded a structural...

    New garage - very dissapointed!!!

Repsonse to a few questions and some comments. I'm not sure if some did not read the entire thread. I asked for people to please refrain from, "should have done this, should have done that". It's done and I'm moving forward. *I also have a Pontiac, hence the Tempest455 sig. *The RR is a 90%...

    New garage - very dissapointed!!!

I appreciate all the positive comments on this over the last year. It’s been extremely frustrating and I’ve done my best to remain calm (for the most part) regarding the matter. I did come unglued with the builder and his salesman at one point but it could have been worse. I’m going to point...

Ditto on the Hot Dawg. I have 2 Modines, one Hot Dawg and one PDP. Pay a little more up front but they last forever without issue.

    Detached 34x30 in WI

Main issue was fill not compacted properly and foundation failure. I'm going to post what happened when they are done. They are 99%, just need to do one more thing. That being said, the fill was the root of the problem.

    New garage - very dissapointed!!!

New concrete was poured today and walls were finished. A few lose ends and repairs will be completed. Hate to keep everyone following this thread waiting. Should be done by weekend or next week at latest. I will post up all that's been done once I'm satisfied and can elaborate on this ordeal...

Epoxy-Coat long term 8 year review

Some car mfg's consider their "Beige" almost gold in color. Did you buy the kit direct from Epoxy Coat?

    New garage - very dissapointed!!!

I'm in no hurry (I've already waited a year) so I might as well make sure it's cured. Looking for suggestions. I've used Rust Oleum water based in my other garage and want something more durable.

Nice garage. Hope the fill was compacted properly. See my thread where mine was not. I'm dealing with it almost a year later with much hassle, attorney fees etc. Hope it works out better for you than it did for me. BTW, I used to live in Brookfield and my kids were born at Waukesha Mem.

    New garage - very dissapointed!!!

I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Once this gets done and they are out of my life I will post what's been done. Moving forward, I know I need to wait approx 2 months for epoxy. What are some of the better options?

    New garage - very dissapointed!!!

Nothing to report yet, once again at a stand still. They asked me to remove stuff to bust out the slab and it's been a week with no activity. Have been documenting with more pictures and will load them all up to my website.
