    I have an excuse one side a machine shop.Build race engines and carbs,dirt is the enemy.It can depend on the work you do but once it's clean it easy to keep it that way.

    xactly what I'm doing but with the 109$ ones [need 5 of them after all] and much cheeper than any cabinets I'v found. Will only hold mics and dial gauges after all.

    I'v been researching this topic for months now.People will tell you that lower rpm's are quieter and thats true but thats a retaliative term. The model you show[bel aire qp] is the only one I'v found that gives you db's[that are the same as a screw comp] for that reason it's the one I'v ordered...

    Advance auto [now on L.I.] sell a Gunk 1gal.with a basket[works so so] and a 5 gal CRC and some other brand with no basket, but nothing beats thye old Gunk Hydro-Seal.

    Thanks for the pics cfBenoit, I'm a few weeks away from ordering mine from Big Floors and now I have to choose. In my case these about a $600 diff.

    Thanks again impulse! I was not not aware of the diff. in the rpm rateing and those eatons look nice for half the price! Over a $1000 and only 5db diff. I could build a small wall around it if need be . I quess i"ll be calling them to see about shiping now. Thanks again.

    Thanks for your reply impulse.It's hard to find the rpm listing on some comp. as they don't show them all. I did find a listing on some Champion ones 5hp at 805rpm's and 7.5hp at 1035 rpm's but no db's listing.There cost is like half of the Belaire QP but I wonder how they compare?

    Thanks that helped. Bel Aire states there QP series runs at 69db and I didn't know exactly how loud that was.Seems like it would be quiet enough, guess I'll have to spring for the extra bucks.

    Does any one have any dealing with the so called quiet compressors? Are they realy that much quieter or is it just like there regular one with just a box build onto it? There is a rather large price diff. I'm considering the 7hp for my new shop and will be standing only a few feet away.

    x2 for the SharperTek stuff.I used the bucket stuff for many years[gunk Hydroseal and the crc tymestuff]and it had to sit over night most of the time .Now withe the right cleaner it takes 20 min.That another thing try diff. cleaners for diff. effects.,and get one big enough,I now wish I had...
