i just dealt with them on a socket, they sent me a new one in 8 days. You should call and talk to them.

these are all good tips/methods above, if you still have trouble, you can cheat a little and pinch the wire loop tight around the screw with needle nose pliers as you screw it down.

I have this torque wrench and the smaller one. I use them because I don't work on cars enough to have a good "feel" for what's tight enough or too tight. I've used them from spark plugs to timing belt change on my honda pilot. All I can definitely tell you is that a higher number does apply...

That's par for the course, I tend to get dull spots just from a few large nails. Either buy better or buy more, I haven't done the math on what's less expensive. I re-file my wood ones and use them down to the nub, really doesn't take much effort.

yeah, I rented the big drill and hole saw bit from home depot when I punch through the cinder block for pvc pipe from furnace, i don't recall how much it costs but I do think it was worth it.
