    Has Eric Lost His Mind?

My rules for HF purchases - 1) nothing that if it fails can harm me (jackstands). 2) Nothing that I must rely on in an urgent/emergency situation (generators). 3) No air tools. Except for the PVC lined air hose that I use to run air from my IR compressor to the 5 places in my shop. Their...

-HF jigsaw. The blade clasp broke first use. -HF motorcycle lift - tried to drop a motorcycle when elevated. repositioned the bike several times. Rated for 1000 pounds, didn't like an 854 pound motorcycle. -HF bench grinder - supplied grinding wheels were both out of round enough to not be...

    Negotiating construction costs?

For large projects I get bids from 4-6 companies. And let them know I'm getting other bids. I had folks tell me that they would match lower bids. I said I will not call you to 'match'. Some will adjust 10% on the spot if they want/need the work. In Wake county NC right now, good luck finding...

Made an offer on a house with an outbuilding!

Good luck on your purchase. We were looking for a property with more acreage, but found an ideal property. A 30x36 shop with a carport that doubles the footprint. The house is nice also.

    Toolbox Widget

LOL! Now that's a great idea!! Useful. Utilitarian. And most folks with a garage have 6 - 12 guage wire collecting dust from another project.

    Lets see your workbench

I built this, without the top part. I made mine 8 foot long. It's sturdy and solid. I spent money on a Birth plywood top that only added $12 to the project. Add www to this .familyhandyman.com/workshop/workbench/how-to-build-a-workbench-super-simple-50-bench/view-all/[/url] Next I will build...

    Motorcycle Lifts

I have a motorcycle jack and a Harbor Freight table lift. I replaced the table lift wheel chock with a Harbor Freight stand/chock. I will put any real motorcycle on that lift and not worry about it. The harbor freight table life requires 65 pumps to lift my Electra Glide to full height. Works...
