    Show Your Williams

When I ordered them last night the Amazon page said there was only 1 of each set left. I got an email this morning saying that both sets had shipped, and that expected delivery is next Thursday. So there better not be a two month wait for mine. But since I just depleted their stock, the next...

So Matco is backordered on all ratchets

I have started canceling orders from Matco if they are backordered. I have pretty much filled my whole tool box in the last three months, and I've ordered several wrench sets, socket sets, ratchets, pry bars, picks, screwdrivers, nutdrivers, torx sets, you name it. In mid-December I started...

Impact Sockets - 6 pt or 12 pt?

I have recieved my Matco (ADV) shallow impact sockets and my Sunex deep impact sockets and wanted to just say thanks to the people in this thread that suggested Sunex. I saved $455 by buying the Sunex deep impact sockets instead of the Matco (ADV) deep impact sockets. In comparing the two...

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

I've used my Daytona a lot since I bought it, and it works as good as any floor jack I've had (better than some). This thread has been going strong for four months now, and I'm sure some Daytona owners have used their jacks a lot more than I have. I can't remember a single negative comment...

Who bought Christmas presents for theirself ?

I bought myself for Christmas: -12 Matco socket rails -4 sets of 1/2" drive impact sockets (SAE shallow and deep, metric shallow and deep) -2 sets of stubby wrenches (standard and ratcheting) -2 DeWalt 25' tape measures -2 Matco flare nut wrenches to complete my set -a set of 1/2" impact socket...

50 amp male to 20 amp female connector?

The heater I am using is a Comfort Zone 4000 watt 240 volt heater that my wife got from Cal Ranch for $129. It has an internal overheat protection feature. I started installation this evening by installing two boards on the wall that the wall mount will mount to. I went to paint the boards...

50 amp male to 20 amp female connector?

I have two 240 volt circuits in my garage, one is a 50 amp circuit for my welder, and the other is a 15 amp circuit for my compressor. I asked for a 240 volt portable heater for Christmas, but wasn't specific about what I needed. So, of course, it has a 20 amp plug on its cord...

50 amp male to 20 amp female connector?

Does someone make an adapter that will let me plug my 20 amp 240 volt garage heater into the 50 amp 240 volt wall outlet? I've looked at Lowe's, Home Depot, and on Amazon, and I cannot find one. If no one makes an adapter, does anyone sell a short extension cord with a 50 amp male end and a 20...

Impact Sockets - 6 pt or 12 pt?

I'm hearing this alot on here, and decided to listen to the advise. Last week I ordered two shallow 6 point impact socket sets from Matco (ADV), a metric 26 piece set, and an SAE 19 piece set. This week I ordered two deep 6 point impact socket sets from Sunex, a metric 26 piece set, and an SAE...

Impact Sockets - 6 pt or 12 pt?

I was just looking in the Matco tools e-catalog, in the ADV impact socket section, and was just about to order a set of 6 point deep impact sockets. Then I noticed they had both 6 point and 12 point deep impact sockets in the 26 piece metric set I was looking at. Uh oh, too many choices, so I...

Impact Sockets - 6 pt or 12 pt?

From the good quality manufacturer, such as Snap On, Matco, or Mac, which impact socket is going to work best and be strongest, 6 pt or 12 pt?

    What's today's best bang for your buck(sockets)

If you need impact sockets the ADV brand from Matco is good quality, and less money than their main brand, or snap on for that matter. I just got a 1/2" drive 26 piece metric set for ~$200, and a 19 piece SAE set for ~$160

    Let's see your toolbox.

Top Drawer Tuesdays. This is my home toolbox, I don't turn wrenches for a living, just tinker around in the garage. I didn't get the memo about top drawers being the socket drawer, because I put screwdrivers and nut drivers in my top drawer.

    Looking for a 240 v construction heater

That's not a bad idea. The problem with all of these ceiling mounted units is that my ceiling is probably 11 or 12 feet high, not the 10 feet I originally posted. If I mount a heater on the ceiling I am always going to have to pull out the step ladder to reach the on switch or the thermostat...
