Plumbing- is this as dumb as it looks?

Looks like a vent with nowhere to go. With the windows above maybe they didnt want to bore through the 2x4 and go around the windows. Who doesnt frame plumbed walls with 2x6? its code where I live. Tract shacks.

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT DarrenDriven's Portland Man Cave

I would have done the same thing with the lift. wise choice to still utilize the garage for its intended purpose.

Do you just wiggle the cars around in the shop to get them on the lift?

    Mark's Colorful Legacy Epoxy Project

Excellent job. I like how organized you are making sure you have all the tools ready right down to the safety glasses. The crack repair looks great. Maybe I should consider that product for my own garage.

    Crippled by indeciveness

I'm really impressed with the durability and look of porcelain and ceramic tile when installed right. That's the route I'm going when the time comes. You can find nice looking tile for 99 cents a square foot and if you can install yourself it's a no brainer.

    Sonotubes/shed foundation

The stability comes from the bell at the bottom. When you backfill, the dirt holds the shoulder of the bell in place making for a more secure foundation. If you have ever seen leaning sonotubes it is because they put the tube directly on the soil not allowing for a bell end. The sonotube needs...

    dubber's double

What is your take on the husky wall cabinets? I like the price but I'm stuck between new age and the husky. I like the build of gladiators but I dislike the overall look with the diamond plate.

    block or poured foundation ?

a proper stem wall poured is so much stronger than block. Surprised its the same price as a block stem wall. Plenty of houses with both but concrete is stronger and block looks better.

Quickjack vs. MaxJax vs. 4 post vs. 1 post vs. scissor vs. jack & stands vs. asylum

Re: Quickjack vs. MaxJax vs. 4 post vs. 1 post vs. scissor vs. jack & stands vs. asyl I was in this same struggle and I went for a recessed in floor scissor. I wanted drivetrain access so i found a used mohawk usl-6000. I have not recessed it yet but the lift is well built and sturdy as a tank...

    scissor lifts?

If you look hard enough you can find a used mohawk for 2k. They can be difficult to source but check out government auctions. They seem to be the only ones who can afford these lifts new. Nothing is too good for taxpayers.

    scissor lifts?

I use a mohawk usl-6000 full rise. It gets the job done but has a large footprint. Very stable well built lift.

2 story garage vs garage w/room on first floor

I would go with the two story route. Its cheaper to build and you wont be questioning if you should rip it out if you want more garage space when all said and done because it wont be possible. I have a small living area on the back of my garage its 18x22 and im tempted every day to rip it out so...
