    HF 44” custom wood top

Thats too nice to work on unless the kind of work youre doing is delicate like folding paper airplanes :lol_hitti All jokes aside i would like to build one not quite as fancy for mine. Do you plan on letting it overhang or fit inside the edges at the top?

    Tool & Cabinet Brands?

Also channelock make great pliers, hit home depot and grab a few sizes of estwing hammers, ingersoll rand for any air tools, gearwrench for their flex head ratcheting wrenches, mayhew for prybars and chisels.

    Tool & Cabinet Brands?

US General is a solid box for the money, i dont think you can walk into a store and find anything better, only a tool truck brand is going to be nicer. As far as tools on a moderate budget, i would go with snap on for ratchets, wright for wrenches, klein for pliers and screwdrivers, craftsman...

Does it still make sense to buy 3/4 drive tools?

I just bump mine with the air gun until its tight. But all of mine are the 1 1/4" diameter balls. The smaller 3/4" ball might not be able to take that much torque.

Snap On stepped up their game. Milwaukee's turn!

My personal unscientific method for judging the power of an impact is the size of the hammers. The milwaukee claims more torque than most pneumatic 3/4 drive guns yet the hammers in some of those guns weigh more than the entire milwaukee gun. Bigger hammers hit slower but harder. Its like...

    Roloc disc source

Benchmark is my go to for any type of cutting or grinding consumable. They are really great for the price.

Are ORB hydraulic fittings just NPT with an O ring?

No oring boss is different. Some npt or nps may thread in the hole but not enough to seal properly

    Highlighting engraved numbers on tools

brand new chrome sockets are hard to read until they get some use. I just take a scraper and scoop a blob of the black grease that forms from a leaky diesel engine and smear it in the stamped markings and wipe off the excess. It will stay in there for a long time making it easy to read, but...

Does it still make sense to buy 3/4 drive tools?

At that price i would buy it just for that one time you may need it. Especialy if you dont own a torch. Anything over 1 1/4 is pushing it with 1/2 drive if its seized. Im biased because i use 3/4 up to 3" or so almost daily, and its addicting. If you think theres some badass 1/2 air guns on...

    cut off wheel

Cheap wheels are dangerous. I almost lost a thumb when a cheap wheel exploded. Now i wear my welding gloves when i grind or cut instead of thin work gloves. Benchmark abrasives makes excellent quality .045 cut off wheels. Shop on ebay and you can get them as cheap as 50 cents per wheel if...

Help me pick a tool box

I have 2 us general boxes and for the price they are much better quality than lowes or hd. Youd have to buy a snap on or equivalent to tell the difference.

What kind of pliers are these?

I have an identical pair made by bonney. Dont use em very much, but when i do its the only thing that will work. You. can also use them to expand small/med piston rings to remove or install them.

    2004 Yukon front hub removal

Put a floor jack under the flange where the wheel studs are, jack it up so its off the stands and all the pressure is on the hub. Hit it repeatedly with the heaviest sledge you got. It will pop eventually.

Any nuts and bolts experts here?

Im sure some random standard can be found on google to support what i was told. I dont think it's necessary to bother with since you said yourself a2/304 is not appropriate for immersion, which is what the op will be doing to launch his boat. So what exactly are you arguing about?

    Tankless rotary screw air compressors?

The amount of electricity or fuel required to run a screw compressor is probably more than what a regular conpressor needs to fill the tank. Think of a tow behind diesel air compressor for sandblasting or jackhammers. Kind of wasteful and noisy to start it up and run it for 30 sec. plus...

Any nuts and bolts experts here?

Most of these replies are absolutely incorrect. "304" is more commonly called "a2" when referring to fasteners. "316" is close, but not quite "a4" in a fastener WHICH IS THE ONLY ONE APPROVED FOR MARINE USE. A4 is available in 3 types type 50 (soft) type 70 ( medium) type 80 (high stength)...

    Square drain plug sockets?

Most plugs that arent fucked i can just use a ratchet. The ones that are rusty and already been half stripped i have an extension thats chopped right below the detent ball, so i have a nice short square end to drive in with a hammer when needed. Sometimes you gotta jam a bolt in the square end...

    Wheel Bearing Tools

Air hammer, sledgehammer, then torch depending on how bad it is. If its really bad get some extra hands and use all 3 at once. When the rust gets really bad penetrating oil cant really get in the seam quickly. Its only helpful if you can let it soak hours beforehand.
