    Heavy equipment, and my vehicles.

    Snap-On Sockets

The only reason that I have a set in 3/8" shallow and semi-deep is, Snap On has the smallest O.D. that I am aware of. I need that from time to time at work. Other than the Snap On I use Proto, Craftsman, Pittsburgh, and Tekton.

    What are these clamps called?

Try cropping the image just a little bit, then try posting. I've had to do that.

Does it exist: Obstruction style lifting arm

We have a few of these at work, I believe that they are older than I am, they only have load ratings on them and no manufacturer information so I can't help you there. Do you have a local shop that makes certified chains and slings? If you do, they most likely could point you in the right...

I don't know where to ask this so here goes:

Shipping costs the last few years have went way up. We ship with UPS everyday here at work and it's amazing how much it costs sometimes. It's probably their normal rates, not them trying to discourage you to ship something like that.

Anyone use a Darwin's Grip for string trimmer?

My brother in law has a landscaping business. He bought them for all of his trimmers and his guys love them. They are worth the money, I help him out occasionally, and have used them.

Looks good! That's a nice solution!

Fastener Size or Fastener Access as first thought?

It's basically subconscious for me to identify a fastener size and what tools to grab. The only time I have to "think" what I need is when my first plan of attack doesn't work, and I need to back up and punt. I am professional technician and it's what I do 5 to 6 days a week, 10 to 12 hours a...

really disappointed in my Snap on MG725.

You may be correct there, I actually don't know anyone who has the 1/2", so I can't say either way.

really disappointed in my Snap on MG725.

I've had bad luck with my MG325. I had to send it in for repairs 3 times in two years, two times were about 2 months apart. I had always oiled it everyday that I used it. I have no idea what was going on with that one. It's retired now, replaced it with an Aircat. Don't get me wrong, I liked...

Tekton Prototype Release - Service Wrench Set

As soon as I get ahold of a #16 JIC fitting I'll torque it with the 1-1/2" wrench. All of our #16 fittings are 1-5/8"/41mm. If I can't find one, I'll try to find a nut or bolt and torque it to 125 ftlb and let you know how it goes.

What about angle wrenches, or crows feet?

Tekton Prototype Release - Service Wrench Set

Edit: Finally got pictures to attach. So, here's some pictures of the wrenches. Sorry for the picture quality, I couldn't quite get the lighting right. (Not a photographer by any means!) First impressions are good. Nice finishing, feel hefty for the size. The only con so far, is the stamping...

Tekton Prototype Release - Service Wrench Set

I definitely will give them the best feedback I can. I'm going to put them to the test! I already have some feedback prior to seeing them, but I can't form a fair opinion prior to holding and using them.

Tekton Prototype Release - Service Wrench Set

I was able to buy a set of these, did anyone else get a set? They should be at my door Friday afternoon when I get home from work. I'll post up some pictures over the weekend sometime. Really looking forward to giving these a try, I have 2 major wheel loader rebuilds to do this year and they...

Tekton Prototype Release - Service Wrench Set

I wish they would go one more size to 1-5/8". That's the most common size I use of service wrenches. Definitely going to try to snag a set as soon as they become available.

How many of you use torque adapter wrenches to help with hard to get to areas?

Could you post a link to a source for that? Not that I don't believe you, I'm interested in how it changes the length of the wrench if it is perpendicular to the tool it's attached to. I've always been told that 90° doesn't affect the settings/end torque. I see you said it is very close, just...

    CoThG's Toolbox question thread

For your first question- every 2 weeks and 10% of the balance minimum payment. Question # 2- a little over $400 for me and one of the other guys here had just under $1,000. Not sure about the rest of the techs here. They are either low or no balance.

    27mm shallow 12 point 3/8 socket

We haven't had trouble with getting the DEF itself, it's DEF related components. Even fuel filters and hydraulic fittings are scarce at times. Bucket teeth are like hens teeth finding. It's all messed up.
