Options for asphalt to new retaining wall?

Dont use cold patch since it will only last about a year then it loses it's binding and becomes a bunch of small stones. I've used it to repair asphalt problems but it doesnt last very long. Use asphalt or just get some stone to pack in that gap.

    Need a garage/driveway apron

So have you decided to go with a concrete apron or all asphalt? I'm in a similar situation and figured i'd go with another concrete apron but maybe not. Luckily, my neighbor owns a paving company:)

    Show us your welding projects

Since i mainly use my push mower for tight areas the lawn tractor cant reach it was getting old constantly lifting the front wheels so i thought a mower with swivel wheels would help. I looked online for a kit i might be able to make work but they were either a POS or expensive. So i figured i'd...

The yard / gardening hand tools - thread.

I have that weed puller and it works pretty good. You just need to place the rear tine in the proper place and the weed comes out. Works really good on crab grass.

Plugging away at the trailer rehab. Got it all painted, got the axle and suspension in plus other misc. parts. Started fitting the deck boards then once they were good i coated them with some diesel/oil mix. Next up is final install of the boards, install the lights, a little touchup paint and...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Working on a trailer rehab. Started off as new decking but found a lot of rust on the frame so i've been cleaning that up so i figure out a fix. Also found the axle tube quite corroded so that needs to go so figure might as well put new axle, springs and hardware. Might need new tires on top of...

Recommend a trailer to pull behind an ATV

I had one of the HF bolt together trailers and it help up surprisingly well behind my ATV hauling firewood, loam, mulch etc for many years. I wanted something better and would dump so i made one but if you dont want to make one, the HF trailers will take a fair amount of abuse.

    Cleaning up an overgrown sidewalk?

First step would be to use the town's GIS system to see who owns what. If it is indeed the town's responsibility, probably is, then a call to the Public Works Dept would be in order to bring it to their attention. Either that or just keep plugging away.

    Wood Stove for the shop

That stove will work just fine!! As a matter of fact you wont be loading that up very often to keep the garage warm since i'm sure it'll throw off a lot of btu's. I know for the most part that wood stoves aren't allowed in detached structures however my local building inspector allows them. Just...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished up this top portion of a hutch for the kitchen. Make it out of poplar, which is not cheap nowadays. Now i need to get my neighbor over to...

Chimney install for a vintage Malm fireplace

You may want to think about venting that metal box that sits between the rafters since it will get HOT in there. I'm assuming the chimney system you're using is a class A with 2" clearance to combustibles? Although your good per code, i'd prefer to vent the box. My woodstove sits in the basement...

    Cutting welded inside corner

After thinking about this for a little bit i believe i'm going to use an angle grinder with a cut-off wheel to cut on the inside of those welds then use a dremel to make a 45° to connect the cuts on both ends. Do this on both sides, plus welds in between, and off it comes. I'll just reweld it in...

Plumbing Chimney for Shop Wood Stove - Advice Requested

Looks to me like that stove is too close to the wall. I'd pull it out a good foot or so. Single wall pipe is mainly used inside as there is no reason to run double wall unless you have clearance issues. You definitely want a clean out at the base of the chimney and you want to clean it out...
