    What is the best tap & die set for the money?

    Yeah that seems to be the going rate for a full SAE and metric set, price wise. But I also really would like to have a good full set of bits and extractors, too...which is why I was looking at those other kits. I could buy the bits and extractor seperate, sure enough, which I'll consider too...

    Perhaps you know, Extech is a division of FLIR. Hence, their IR thermometer guns are comparable to Fluke. Just a little "did you know."

    So I almost pulled the trigger on a Matco 76 piece (676TD) metric and standard tap and die set on epay.     Recommend a really long 1/2" ratchet?

    That's what I do for ALL of my quality tools! I usually average half off retail and still have like-new quality snappy or matco stuff. I did splurge on that ratchet, though ... hard sucker to find, let alone half price, lol. I'm a new member here BTW :) Cheers, folks. :beer:
