    Question on safety device for the Radial Arm Saw

    We have one. it's like a centrifugal clutch with a cable on the saw. it's only on newer versions (20 years or less) I don't think they are sold any more. Mainly because Miter Saws and Table saws have become less expensive, and do the same jobs safer and more accurately.

    Reasoning being that perhaps the generator is not big enough to run all the household. The fact it's portable makes that a possibility. (and you will notice I did mention a switch to isolate it from the main power supply.)

    OK Climate Zone is 8, 9, 10...Minimum temp of 15 for a few days a year...so frost depth is minimal... Northern California Coast. Pad is gravel, no Concrete.... The concern I guess is Wind load.
