    Apparently not a Fram guy!

Fram is terrible has been for years! I use Purolator Pure One or Synthetic on my domestic fleet. I only use German filters Mann, Mayle on my German stuff.

    Harbor Freight jacks

I use the harbor freight aluminum quickpump the one that is always on sale for like $70. I have been using it for about a year now and have had zero problems from it. I would say its the absolute same as all other cheap aluminum racing jacks. I only use it on cars at my shop though and I only...

    Shop Insurance!

What do you guys pay insurance wise per month for your liability insurance for your shop? I am trying to get an idea on cost before opening my own shop but without a location insurance will not even give me a very generic quote.

    KRSC46 Cart Disctontinued?

More expensive and not as nice as the Matco JSC-750 IMHO... I had both boxes side by side at my old shop for over a year. There is no way I would buy the snap-on after having used both daily.

Are the higher end jacks/jack stands worth the extra money for a weekend warrior?

I have yet to see a "High end" jack posted.. This is a high end jack.. http://www.brunnhoelzl.com/home.html $1395... These are very good jacks though but really overkill for most anything outside racing pit stops. That being said when racing as a jack man I actually like the cheaper...

Got a Two-Post Lift...? Tell Me About It, Lets Create a Buyers Guide!!

I work with mainly very low cars (porsche, BMW's) and not extremely heavy or large cars. We have two lifts at our shop (Bendpak and Rotary) there is simply no comparison for me between the two. Rotary vs Bendpak Rotary is easier to get cars on even being the narrower lift I am able to get it...

L or M copper pipe for air lines?

Should be an interesting test... (HF Impact)

I have had a few of the push buttons on the back come out over the years on my original 2131 and the design is the same on the qt and 2132 model. It doesnt happen often and my truck driver got replacements for me on the cheap.

Should be an interesting test... (HF Impact)

2132G and 2131QT the 2132G actually broke the handle after less then a year of shop use. Still very useable and hardly noticeable except the handle cap will not stay in. I think it has to do with the larger handle shape. I also have a 2131 that is the original style and it broke after about 8...

2 post lift and getting car on /off lift

What type of lift do you have? I have never ran into this problem on any of my lifts at work or at home. I mean the arms should get pretty short on most lifts. My bendpak at work (The Crappy lift as we all call it) can be more difficult to get short wheelbase cars on but even it usually does not...

Most useful tool that you didn't realize you needed

You can forget all other types of lighting nothing beats a surgical light with 4 wheel casters got our first one from a dentist customer and never looked back. Its like a billion times better then a flashlight with directed light and you can easily articulate it any way you want. Incredible...

Should be an interesting test... (HF Impact)

I have the old earthquake and used it for a long time at the shop without a problem. It was heavy compared to my other guns (nitrocat and IR quiet composite) but it was on par with the nitro cat for power and more power then the IR quiet for sure. I keep it at my parents place now where it...

    Using Less and Less Tools

It all depends on the car type I think. The European cars have stayed about the same since 1999 or so but before that were in my opinion pretty simple (BMW/Porsche/Audi/Volvo) were there was 5 main sizes of bolts/nuts 8mm/10mm/13mm/17mm/19mm and that was it. That is no longer the case for a...

Looking for a 3/8 or 1/2 air ratchet?

Air impact ratchets are far superior to just a normal air ratchet. A good 3/8 normal air ratchet is good for one thing. Breaking your freaking wrist and that is about it. In 1/4 size use a battery powered ratchet as they are far more practical.

who makes the best combination wrench?

I have found that my craftmans will round bolts on the open end when a snapon will grip it. This means that if I find a fastener that I can only get open end on and they are hard to loosen my craftsman will simply not do the job however the snap-ons will do the job. If my craftsman will not do...

who makes the best combination wrench?

I have found this to be true but if the snap-on wrenches mark it then my Craftsman Pro USA wrenches will round it.. Seems the snap on can grip almost double over my craftsman pros.
