Before I get back to the cleanup/restoration stuff, I figured I'dshow a few more pics of the box itself and the drawers. The paint is in really nice shape with a few exceptions in the high use/contact areas. The drawers are even like new inside and still have all the original drawer liners...

I picked up my first real tool box a few weeks ago and I'm loving it so far! It's a Snap-on KR-1000B from 1988 (does that count as vintage? Most of my vintage tools are from the 1940s or earlier, so this one feels a little on the "new" side for my usual vintage tastes). It's in great shape...

That was my take on the box as well. Decent deal. They’re hard to find in that condition around here, so I was happy to pay a price on the high end of the value range.

This is unquestionably the only suckage award I’ve earned 😂 He also had a beautiful Snap-on KR-562 “Taco cart” box with a wood top, and I’m already trying to figure out how I can justify going back and buying that, too. So, I guess I’m already slipping down that slope, lol.

This one really is in nice condition. Not perfect, but VERY nice. It even came with the original owner's manual and a Snap-on cup that was still in the plastic wrap :) I think you're spot on about the right vibe. I think the owner picked up on how much I appreciate the good ole USA made tools...

Everything functions perfectly smooth and it even came with the key! It does have some paint loss on the top front lip of the box and on the top right drawer. Other than that, it’s like new.
