It feels like you're pushing the limits of manual equipment / typical "sheet metal" gauges... Anyway, check out Trick-tools.com they've got a ton of sheet metal fab equipment, including US made stuff. I've bought from them with good experience.

A buddy bought a couple of the super cheap ebay chainsaws, and they worked ok. Personally, I love my Sthil chainsaws, but they might not be 4x better for a one time use situation.

Better flow rates since the pipe expands to fit over the fitting, instead of the fittings reducing the ID of the pipe. Secondly, you can't assemble the fittings without fully completing the fitting process; with the rings, its easy to miss crimping a ring. That can be disastrous! Of course...
