My builder wrapped a mounting panel (ie, plywood) in metal to match my siding, then framed it in like a window and trimmed with J channel. Electrician strapped / bolted everything to it. Looks nice.

Maybe I need to make sure the wires are up against the 6x6 so that the 2x6 maintains the 1.25" separation from exterior siding? Again, I'm not planning to bore holes in every post Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is very clear to me based on resources I've read that romex wires that run through bored holes must be 1.25" from the edge of the wood (and if not, 1/16 steel plate cover) to prevent puncture from nail or screw. Typically, I see this distance measured from the open side of an unfinished...

My light location is fine. His issue, while looking at rough wiring only, is he thought I was somehow backfeeding...but I'm not. The breaker side comes up to bottom of switch and then I just fed both lights off the top of the same switch using tail / yellow wirenuts. And it's a double gang...

My builder talked me out of gutters due to snow / ice damage as it slides off metal roof. I know there are ways of preventing that, but sounded like a headache so I just put French drain with rock down around perimeter of building to catch water.

I remember my posts just being bolted to some angle iron and other stuff (like cables / hydraulics) being in a separate smaller box. I brought it home in my enclosed trailer after having them set it on my vehicle casters with a fork lift and kinda just rolling it up into my trailer.

How about welding the feet of the posts to a larger plate that a) bridges you out past the joint and b) puts the anchors on both sides of joint. Some heavier duty lifts are made that way anyway. Anyway, to give you my experience, I've had my same hobby lift installed in two different garages...
