Help Me Choose a Tool Chest

I have a Homak I purchased from Northern Tool. Like you, I have a mix of power tools, mechanics tools, and woodworking tools (mainly clamps) and drawer size is important. If I had to do it all over again, I would look at these three items: 1. It's generally inevitable that I add tools over...

    Mechanic Light Suggestion

What are your thoughts on the M18 Rover? I already have several M18 batteries. Same purpose. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-1300-Lumens-LED-Flood-Light-with-Free-300-Lumens-LED-Headlamp-2361-20-2106/308069285

Snap on will “reclaim” my tool box?!??

Sure. Honestly without this board discussing it, I never would have thought anything about it. While snap-on would certainly have a legal claim against the seller, I probably couldn’t in good conscience buy it if I thought it was stolen. However, if he told me that he owed $500 on the bill and...

    Good Car Ramps

Lol, no. Just the solution I was looking for. It’s one of those things where I would save up for but probably not ever pull the trigger.

    Favorite Harbor Freight tool

I have the alumnium one that's ~$40. It's great. I like it because it's 36" or so long so I can move side to side the whole front end of my truck.

Snap on will “reclaim” my tool box?!??

Using your own logic, how would snap on ever know you have the box? I've purchased multiple vehicles where the seller had an open title and a burner. Just as I could never find them, they could never find me. If this is a DIYer, how would snap on ever know who has it?

My flex-head ratchet has gone "limp" over the years. Basically, the head is too flexible and tends to flop around. Is this something normal with flex heads or is mine broken?

    Replacement bulbs

I have a standard 2 garage that I use for DIY auto repair and the two standard bulbs aren’t cutting it. At this time, I don’t want to go full board lighting but wanted to start with just better bulbs. I was looking at this and similar...

    Air vs Electric tools

I am in this boat with the M18s. It took my a while to trust battery powered, but for the average homeowner who only uses thier tools on the weekends, battery powered works. Even at my old house when I had an air setup, I still had to have a battery powered drill for other projects.

new tools for a newby, what should I buy with Sears going out of business?

I went to the Sears here locally that's going out of business and there were not any good deals. The only thing that could be a good deal is those large mechanics sets. But honestly, I found an approach of buying the best tool when you need it is better than buying a large assortment. I take the...

Project "Hot Rod Lincoln" (24 Hours of Lemons Build)

For instance, there's a run or rally thats from SC to Key West (no way I could build a car in time...but just saying). https://24hoursoflemons.com/lemons-rally/florida-man-2019/ This would be something cool to do next year.

If you could rebuild your tool box what would you put it in?

I would have opted for flex ratcheting wrenches instead of regular wrenches. I do regret cheapening out on that. But otherwise, I'm happy with what I have.

    Creepers or cardboard???

Cardboard crew...however if the concrete is wet, I use this piece of fabric? that came out of an old car I used to have. It is basically a divider between the back seats and the trunk area. I think it came from a cutlass...

Project "Hot Rod Lincoln" (24 Hours of Lemons Build)

Very exciting thread...Maybe one day. Curious how these multi-day runs work where you go from site-to-site. Is it blocked off? Speed limit? I think it would be a neat "family" thing...no real intent on winning...just fun. Thoughts?

Good luck...on my truck, I haven't found one to work. I even tried to pay a brake shop to scan the ABS code and they said it doesn't connect.
