Torque Wrench vs Cordless impact tool

I wouldn't trust any power tool over a quality torque wrench. There are many applications that are too critical to use just a Makita on.

    Grinder alternative?

Get your employer to pay for new chisels every time one goes dull. Maybe he'll wake up.Bench grinders should be allowed as long as the tool rests are set correctly and have flip up face shields. The operator needs to wear safety glasses too. Isn't that a more sensible rule instead of out right...

    Tools that save your bacon

The most recently used was the Time-Sert thread repair kit. We have a fleet of Detroit Diesel DD13's with aluminum oil pans. The drain plug hole is not steel lined and after many oil changes the threads are shot. The use of this kit saves about $1600.00 for a new pan.

hard scale in the toilet - can't remove it....

I had same thing in our toilet when we moved in. It cleaned up really nice and shiny by pouring in muriatic acid along with brushing. I did remove the hopper first and placed it outside.

    Odd Ball Mechanics Creeper

You know I also looked at that one in the pic from tlxch on the day I bought it. Close but no cigar. I hear what the other posters are saying about it.They could be right. Looking at the dimples in the area of the wheels indicates a step to strengthen it for wheels. The casters are mfd. by...

    Odd Ball Mechanics Creeper

One of my flea market finds today was creeper made entire of stamped steel. It looks kind of old but maybe not ancient. Picture a red platform that looks like a big cookie sheet with rolled edges. No stamps or manufacturer info on it. The body has extra holes to locate the heavy duty casters...
