    Nailing T&G Wall Paneling

That was my plan and how I've done it in the past, but there will only be 4 nails securing each piece to the wall then (one board covers 4 horizontal girts) since the spacing is 24" OC. I'm used to 16" OC or solid sheathing where there can be lots more nails. I will be hanging things off of...

    Nailing T&G Wall Paneling

Picked up some 6” T&G red pine for my interior walls. I have horizontal girts/framing every 24” in the pole barn. Would you nail it in place with one nail in the groove or face nail it with two nails per horizontal girt? Any finish recommendations to bring out the spalted colors?

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT 31x36 Barn Project

I'm finally almost done wiring the place. I had it all done and then realized I wanted some more 220v outlets as well as exterior outlets so I went back through once more to get those in. I can't believe how much wire I used- all the regular wall outlets are on two circuits and alternate...

    Double tablesaw setup

Great input, thank you all. Installing one outlet and just plugging in whichever saw I want to use is the easiest and most foolproof way of going about it, but I have a feeling I'd get lazy and not want to unplug it each time... so I'm leaning towards a rotary selector switch which will cut...

    Double tablesaw setup

Benefit is it takes nearly the same floor space with a larger rail, so instead of making a laminate extension table I have a second saw. Advantage on two saws is saving a few seconds doing blade changes (some shops have dedicated dado or rip saws). A luxury, not a necessity by any means.

    Double tablesaw setup

Figured I’d post a picture of my newest layout concept. Two 10” saws attached side to side sharing a fence. This is just for my one man hobby shop so it’s overkill but I got the second saw for a “can’t turn it down” price. Both nice barely used Deltas, one a Unisaw and one an “industrial”...

    Warning drill battery chargers fires

Interesting timing on this post. My buddy was recently charging his name brand 20v battery with a off-branded charger. Plugged it in on his way out the door to go to work and then got a call not long after from his wife saying that there was a fire in the house. The battery had exploded and...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT 31x36 Barn Project

Interior main lights are in, still have to do pendant task lights and overhead fan wiring. Siding is nearly done. Contemplating motion lights at the gables. Time to clean out and insulate over the next few weeks.

    Free LED lighting for woodshop?

Yes- the 0-10v dimmer switch arrived on my doorstep yesterday.

    Free LED lighting for woodshop?

They are actually 8’ fixtures. I’m using two rows of four (32’ per side). I may use the left over 4 in the lean to portion but it may be too bright there

    Free LED lighting for woodshop?

Just an update: finally got one row mounted and temporarily wired. Two rows should be plenty bright!

    Exterior Outlet Boxes

Good advice thanks and I will most likely take a trip to one of the supply houses this week. Just doing some thinking/planning from my desk at the moment.

    Exterior Outlet Boxes

Of course the first time I looked at the link they only had one in stock. Now that note is gone so they may be available after all...

    Exterior Outlet Boxes

What is everybody's favorite exterior outlet box? I have my shop sided (1" pine board and batten) and want to add a few exterior outlets prior to sealing up the walls. Some of the options at the local HD/Lowes just seem cheesy and those clear plastic covers seem like they will break as soon as...

    120V quad outlets- multiple circuits

Thanks for all of the input and discussion. For my purposes I will just be running multiple circuits to alternating boxes.

    120V quad outlets- multiple circuits

So is the option of multi wiring branch circuits really not an option if I have to run separate neutrals after the GFCI's anyway?
