Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

I'm 99.9% sure that is the exact same lift as the Champion 10k lift that I recently bought. Same pump, same type of arms, same type of arm locks.....it looks identical. I think it's also the same as the Atlas, and several other brands of lifts. They are all just rebranded China lifts with...

Is there an electrician here that can give me their opinion on my sub panel wiring?

So basically....just leave everything like it is?

Is there an electrician here that can give me their opinion on my sub panel wiring?

No, no other metallic paths between the house and the shop. The wires were ran in PVC electrical conduit. I did talk to an electrician at my work yesterday and explained to him how things were wired up. He said that although not up to current code, running only three wires to the shop "used to...

Is there an electrician here that can give me their opinion on my sub panel wiring?

I wired it up about 5 years ago. Yes, I can probably run a separate ground wire from the main box to the sub panel. The part that doesn't make any sense to me is that aren't the neutral and ground bonded together in the main breaker panel? Call one a neutral, call one a ground....but aren't...

Is there an electrician here that can give me their opinion on my sub panel wiring?

So this is just a code issue then? If 3 wires used to be ok......the only reason it's not now is because of code? I have no idea what NEC my state uses.

Is there an electrician here that can give me their opinion on my sub panel wiring?

So I live out in the country, I have a 40x60 shop (out building) that’s about 65yds away from my house. I wanted to get power to the shop, so I called and talked to the local county coOp electrician/inspector in my area. I told him I wanted to add power to the shop for lighting, 120v outlets...

Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

Install took about 4 hours including wiring with two guys working on it. It wasn't really that difficult....you just really need to take your time with measuring and leveling things up.....measure, shim, measure, tighten, measure..etc, etc....

Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

Thanks for all the info guys. As far as the “CE Rating”…..not sure if there is any truth to it, but the local company I bought the lift from said that it’s some sort of European rating. Does that really mean anything? I have no idea…. As far as stuff to get….yep, I’ve got a roll around cart...

For the price you pay for a Bendpak...I'm shocked that their customer service is so bad.

Any way to keep mud daubers out of your shop?

In the summer time, I have a problem with those mud dauber wasps getting into my shop and putting there little mud ball nests on everything. All over my lights, on the rafters, pretty much all over anything they can get to. Aside from getting up and cleaning them off of everything every...

Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

***UPDATE*** Well, I decided to pick up a lift from a local place “Champion Lifts”. It was nice being able to go and look at them all assembled and talk to a guy about them. From what I can tell, It’s the same China lift that is sold on Amazon (APlus Lift), Greg Smith (Atlas), and under a...

Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

Is there any way to figure out exactly what the CE rating on the list means? Is there a CE sticker or certificate they provide with the lift?

So what does that actually mean...as far as a lift goes?

Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

There is a local lift dealer (Champion Lifts) that is selling that same lift as the Amazon link you posted. They want $1,900 for it......they say it's "CE rated"... whatever that means. Even though it's a little more expensive than the Amazon lift, that's probably what I'm going to get. The...

Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

Ideally, I would like to keep it at or under $2,000 for the lift. 9,000lb would be more than enough. I've seen some on Amazon as cheap as $1,650 with free shipping.....but I'd rather spend a little more IF that means more safety/quality. Honestly, I'm having a really hard time telling the...

Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

Mohawk makes good stuff.....not going to argue with that. But their lifts are double the price of other "quality" lifts. That's a tough pill to swallow for a guy that's only going to use it every now and then. If I was running a shop.... absolutely.

Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

Are any of the lifts that are for sale on Amazon decent quality? The fact that many have free shipping, make them worth looking at. I'm sure most are the same as all the others....lifts made in China with a different name stamped on them. Anyone every got a lift off of Amazon? Some look...
